No, but only because I have a house on the water. I do have a spare prop and prop puller just in case.

Be careful, though. If you ding your prop, chances are you'll need to have someone look at your shaft alignment to make sure it's not bent or out of alignment. That could cause other problems down the road.

If your dealer's that far away, I'd find someone local that knows how to work on inboards.

I thought you would probably be more likely to find a 3-blade on boats with 1:1 gearboxes and 4-blades on 1:1.5 gearboxes. The number of blades has more to do with the gear ratio than with the type of boat. The older boats, like ours, with a 1:1.46 gear box came with a 14"-18 OJ. The Acme #537 13.5"-16 I just put on wasn't even available until 2003. Maybe most I's come with a 1:1 and most V's come with a 1:1.46.

They V drives use the Walter 1.46:1 unit and the Directs Drives use a 1:1 Transmission. And before it's pointed out by someone, I know the V's use a trany also

It just seemed easier to divide them by drive type V's the owner needing to no a ratio in the drive train

I hadn't thought about that before. The V-drives have a 1:1 trans followed by the 1:1.46 V-drive unit, whereas the direct drives just have the 1:1 trans and no gearbox.

Do any of the V-drives use the 1:1 Walter V-drive unit?

The way I understand it is that 08 is the first year the 320EFI is offered which is probably why the 340 is popular. Who wants carburated anyway?
Does anyone know what the actual difference is in the motor that cranks out another 20HP?

                    That makes total sense.

The 320 hp has cast iron manifolds a little more restrictive, 340hp has better flowing aluminum manifolds , 360hp has roller rockers ,and then theres the 400hp 364 cubic inches 6.0l . hope that answers some of your questions.
