A Cruel trick I play with My Tige' 22iR

If ya wanna take a beating in a boat, take a ride in a Malibu Skier.
A 10 year old design hull,, no,, this year makes it 11.

The Tige 22iR has an awsum ride that takes owners of other brands by surprise. Plus the excellent seats that have que'd the other builders to improve theirs.

    And;
For a heavy boat, the 22iR accelerates pretty good.
Remember, in a wakeboard boat, weight is your friend.

The kicker, is the awsum handeling and engines sound.

I let friends take the wheel, take the boat to over 45mph,, and turn the steering wheel as fast as they can.

It blindsides them that the 22iR has phenominal handling.
My '03 22iR has the 04' hull, which means the boat turns flat and very sharp at full speeds..

    It leaves them dreamin'.

Those friends that don't have a 22iR want one,, those friends that bought the other brands,, wish they didn't.

Exploding sales of new Tige' I think have taken everyone by surprise.
My dealer sold 58 Tige's last month,, andI have no clue of how many more orders they took.
Being priced right against the competition helps,, but I think they make a teriffic product.

I believe they're selling far more than they expected.

Most my gripes have been with the aftermarket add on I have.

Cool, but having a little trouble putting all this into one? Is the "cruel trick" you play the letting your friends take the wheel at 45+ mph and turn as hard as they can? Or is it taking them into the chop and showing them how the ride is?

And also, does anyone elses Tige go over 45 mph? Because my '04 22v only goes about 42-43 mph on a good day..

The trick is they wish they bought the Tige,, or they want one.

My speedo registers 48 MPH tops with the taps in the full wake position, full boat or empty.

Pretty good for a wake board boat.
Plenty fast, but it's a tow boat,, I didn't purchase it for speed and I suggest no one else should either.

It's for towing, everything else is a bonus.

Ahh I see now. That happens alot with me also. My dad brings me to my friends lakehouses by boat and after they ride behind it they try talking their parents into trading the old I/O for a new Tige.

Alot of people in my area dont know what wakeboarding is nor, do they understand the whole idea of a tower and the speakers and lights so when we bring it home everyone asks "How much it pushes" as in how fast it goes or how much horsepower it has.

Great Boat man....I have a 2000 21i myself, probably going to get a new one in a couple years (if I don't win one at the Parker Regetta). I just wish our dealer didn't use the Phatte Tower. I'm sure it's great an everything but going to the boat shows and seeing other boats it seems like there are so many better looking designs that would round off the Tige's just a bit better.

            Joe,
Although the rubber integrated board racks leave a little to be desired, the tower is actually strurdy. There new towers are 3" thick and I have heard no rattles or gotten any flex. Cant say much about the older one's since I have never rode behind them but I would have to say these look to be the most sturdy.

I agree with you on the tower.

Mine has a lot of flex,, and though Phat Buddie has a "Customer Friendly" happy face attitude on their website. they actually have contempt for their customers,, and will leave you cold if you have problems.

Like I said, my Phat Buddie flex's, all my friends Phat Buddies flex and Phat Buddie will tell you it doesn't.

They know they have a problem and won't make good on it, or admit it.
They're reply; "You don't have it tightened down" is a rehearsed, phony excuse.

The newer 3" towers are better, but remember , Phat Buddie is a company that has no feelings for their customers problems.
So if ya buy one,, and have issues,, you're on your own.

Phat Buddie will leave you flat cold with no help and no recourse.

It always amazes people on how sharp my Tige will turn.
I was showing it off to my cousin and a friend a few weeks ago and wound up with a 350 lbs. man in my lap.

My last boat was a malibu skier. I can vouch for these remarks. It was a great boat, don't get me wrong, but it does shake you up quite a bit in rough water.

My wife started to doze off when she was sitting on the motor box seat, I "accidently" threw my wife off from the whip and put her kidneys right on the wing seat on the side. She asked' "what the hell?" and I said I thought I saw something in the water. She got over it till later that evening when she became completely handicapped and I had to be at her beck and call until her bruise went away.....
