    20i Slalom Wakes?

Maybe some of you guys can help me out. I'm looking into buying a new 20i. I've got a '93 SLM 2000 and was wondering how the wake in the new 20i's would compare to the wakes of those put out by the older models (92-97)? I'm sure some of you folks have skied behind both and could help me out.

You '93 is most likely better..

Thanks Zad. I guess what I really need to know though is how much of a difference there is? How much worse are the wakes put out by the 20i? Can you be more specific? Again, thanks for the help.

Although I have never skied behind it I do know that the hull is completely different. The 20i hull is built so that it can cross over from slalom to wakeboard. It has the ConvexV hull. Which means its a V shape and is also a convex shape. In combination with the TAPS the boat can change over from slalom to wakboard by just changing the running surface of the hull, just by adjusting the taps. It does not have the flat hull to it like your '93 probably does. Although Im sure its pretty good slalom boat (better then my 21i) Its not going tournament level. But if you are looking for a boat that you can have exceptional slalom wakes and pretty descent wakeboard and surf wakes, this would be a good boat for you.

The slalom wake is very good, they are IMO tourn quality. Tige just doesn't bother to get them AWSA certified. I have an 04 which is AWSA ceritified. The newer ones have the same hull. If you like to ski but also what a good wakeboard boat then this is a good choice.

Most dealers will give you a pull behind it before you buy it.

From what I understand, it's going to be pretty close. They will give you a better wakeboard wake than your old SLM Comp. I'd PM FIC because he's pretty much skied behind them all.

The slalom wake is good. I have skied into 35off behind my 2006 20i. Some say the bump is a little hard at 15 off but I never had a problem with it. With the adjustment of the TAPS plate, you can find the right wake at any line length.

FYI - mine is for sale

I wonder how he has that set up?? The wake looks non-exhistant. He must have some tricks to get it that dialed in.

I have skied with Jamie and Chris Rossi, both have the same 2006 20i I have, listed above. We set TAPS to about 2. It really is a great ski wake.

I own the 2004 switch i which they used to get sanction for 3 event it has a 6.ol and teak platform , 13x12.5 prop , the teak platform had to be custom built because teak wasnt available on the switchi.

The 2006 20i was also AWSA certtified for 3 event. The 2007 was not certified, I understand, because Tige didn't supply one for the test. Also the 2007 was not compatible with the current AWSA certified PerfectPass cruise control with the MarinePower engine and MIFI 5 Medallion guages. The boat and hull itself was exactly the same.

The 2005, 2006 and 2007s had the teak platform option. I upgraded mine with an additional piece of teak to protect the transome from skis and boards. I still have another piece of teak that is enough to make anotherone.
Here it is, if you missed it:
