I have a 1999 2200i, awapped to the white faced Faria's, kept the TAPS, speedo's and tach,,they all seem to resemble and blend. The problem is at night with the lights. I took the bulbs and found some red instrument bulbs but I was concerned as the amp draw was higher. I am in the process of coloring the OEM bulbs with a red sharpie and see if that will work.

Thanks teachercop! I would love to see a picture if you get a chance. What color is the lighting on the Faria gauges?

Originally white. It is a bit of a chore as the connector leads were different as well,,,If memory serves the VDO were blade connectors and the Faria are eyelets. I used the appropriate colored wires and made leads prior to the gauge install, then when I mounted each gauge, I cut the blade connector and spliced the existing to the gauge leads. I believe it reduced some of the ‘working in tight quarters’ frustration. The bulbs are different and not interchangeable. After a year, I am still working on getting the lights where I want them. LED type bulb would be cool.....
