    Barefooter

I'm looking at buying a new Tige. I'm a barefooter but my kids are not (yet). Son only wakeboards (beginner), daughter ski's. I'm looking at the 21i and the 20v. Does anybody have any recomendations or comments?

We own a 21i and I am just learning how to barefoot. I would recomend the 21i because it would be easier to hook a boom if you wanted one. It has a good wakeboard wake and if you add a little ballast or more people it gets pretty good. Skiing wake is pretty good also, it really starts to flatten out at about 32-34mph, but it is a little wider than most tournament ski boats. The 21i also has a reversible back seat so you can flip the seat around and watch the boarder.

Tige's are great boats because they are very strong and handle great in rough water. The TAPS system allows you to adjust the wake to exactly how you want it. The deep freeboard makes it safer for young kids, so you dont have to worry about them falling over as much. Tige also has a great customer service.

Zads on it. the i is generally the better choice for footin' and skiin', the v's better for wakeboarding.

But you have two of the best crossover boats tige makes on you list. So I think you are solid either way you go.

I need about 45mph to one foot. Does that effect your choice and the type of engine I should go with?

On our 21i we have a 315hp. Ours tops at 42. I don't think we have a prop on there that achieves top end. With the right prop and engine im sure you could get up to 45. Im not sure about the V.

It more effects the prop you will need. Anything Tige puts in their boats should get you to that speed, provided you have the right prop.

Edit: Zad's quick on the draw today!

I am sure the Ve gets to 45 but it is a close one.

Are you sure aboseorth that you are traveling 45 for sure or is that what your current boat says you are traveling? Did you have the speed calibrated on the current boat lately? I know that some people say they wakeboard at 25 mph but when they get into mine, they are good at 21 mph....

IMO the 21i is one of the nicest D-drives on the planet. So far as flat out top end, Tige's are more effecient with a given power plant than just about any boat out there. That being said, there's no replacement for displacement. With the right motor and prop, I don't see any reason why you couldn't hit 50. Great question though. Go take one for a spin and let us know how it turns out. I think Tequila is the only regular here who foots now and again.

My wife really want to learn how to foot this year and she keeps pushing me to buy a boom. What I'm gonna do with this chick? I already married her.
