exactly! glad to know i'm not the only person annoyed by this. i did email acme and i'm waiting on a response and looking forward to trying out a 3 blade. did anyone notice better mileage out of their boats?

Mileage? If you're worried about mileage, you have the wrong boat.

Seriously though, I've noticed a change in the way they've made propellers over the last 8 years. My old 3 blade stainless doesn't look anything like my new 3-blade (yes, they are made of different metals, but it's the shape that's changed dramatically).

Also, for those of you who ding their props every once in a while, my prop repair guy told me that 3-blades are far easier to work on and repair than 4 blades.

Interesting feedback from ACME

I asked about the difference between the 525 and 653 and indicated I'm at sea level and run 1200 lbs of ballast.

"It looks like the only usage is wake board & wake surfing. If that is correct I would go with the Acme 911 13 L10.5 three blade nibral 1 1/8" bore .060 cup. This propeller sells for $419.00. To answer your question about the difference between the 525 & 653 of the .080 cup & the .060 cup? The 653 will turn 100 - 125 more rpm at wide open throttle than the 525. The difference between your 515 & the 525 would be around 140 - 160 rpm more turns for the 525. If you look at the fact that you will only see an increase even on the 653 of around 300 more rpm than your 515, then you can see why I am suggesting the Acme 911. Which will give you an increase of between 500 - 550 more rpm which in turn will give you much more pulling & holding power for the loaded boat."

i finally got around to pulling the boat out today to start getting it ready for the season. read that i have a 13x13 4-blade considering the price of a new prop i'm just staying with it for a while longer.
