    CAUTION- Thread Drift ahead.

TRD - So you list your occupation as NASCAR! Dude, fill me in. I'm one of the few NASCAR "heads" around this board. Is that what the TRD is all about? What team are you working for? Truck series or are you working on the Camary?

I'll list my resume as a fan. First favorite was Terry Labonte in the Peitdmont Airlines car. Obviously not a #3 fan. I only judge drivers by what they do on the track. Off the track, I'd probably buy any of 'em a beer. That being said, I've been a T. Stewart fan since his Indy Car days. He don't make it easy to like him, but my faith in his abilities are what keep me chearing for him. I'm pulling for Burton in the Chase. I guess I'm pulling for Mark as well, but he's such a buzz kill, "I know I'm gonna crash at Talladega." But what do I know.

Be sure to check out this thread from the biggest race in Nevada. Well, Northern Nevada at least. Vegas is just a different planet all together.

      Nicky...

As you know I'm not a Nascar fan, but I did watch the last part of the KC race. How cool was that Tony winning while out of gas!

I do like Smoke though, he seems to keep everyone riled up!

You know I was giggling my assoff. Not the coolest way to win, but he has lost his share that way so .

TRD- heres that Titan Series I. The price is definately right. http://www.wakeside.com/page/w/PROD/..._i_titan_tower

For the money though, I like this one: http://www.wakeside.com/page/w/PROD/...ii_titan_tower

This is the tower I wanted, but at the time they were a Malibu only tower. Since I put my new tower on a ton of options have popped up. I just couldn't wait any longer though.

From what I hear these guys have a ton of happy customers as well.

I work for Toyota (TRD) in the truck series for the last 4 years. We are going Busch and Cup racing next year. I am a programmer and run our Quality dept. I write all the programs for the incoming parts before assembly. I will be affilated w/ all 3 programs next year. Some other will only be involved w/ Truck and Busch. I really can't say I have a favorite drive, I like racing but I am not a diehard like most of the guys in the shop. I think most of them would do it for free. I am not that in to it. It is a job that is staying in America (at least I hope).

Yes driving the boat has been a challenge. I am not very good at it. I lived in St. Pete Fla for over half my life and I thought I could handle anything, but driving this boat is hard so far.

Nicky, in a earlier post you said the weak spot was the feet. I looked over my tower. There were no cracks in the rear area. The left side is intact. The right side is completely out, and is wedged against the screw. That is all that held it in place. My friend Paul was lucky this thing didn't break. I glad, because we used the top to tow tubes all the time. Now the front. Both side are cracked all the way around, is this by design or it is really cracked I can't tell. I do had a cracked weld on the brace that goes from the front to the rear bar at the weld. I grabbed the tower and pushed it back and forth, I guess it shouldn't move like this (approx. 2 to 3" maybe) I almost think I could sleeve the entire joint, over the screws and everthing so it can't come apart. The guys are at the track now, but I will have one of them look at it soon.

Let me see if this works. Here is a better pic of my boat.

          Thanks for all your help.

I lived in right there in the Jungle prada area. (7ave and 9th st area). I was just behind the St. Pete JC college. Then I moved up to seminole around 86ave just above Park Blvd. I forget w/ Park st turn into above Park blvd. Thanks for the offer, we haven't been back in about 2 years so we are do. I still have some family there.

                spharis,
I work on inspections machine at the moment, it is private software to the machines, but I do Java and Visual Studio Net stuff. Some VB.net, C++.net. I'm still not that good w/ Java yet. Still working on that one when I get time. I just graduated colloge last year. This was my 2nd time around. I have been a toolmaker most of my life until I started programming machines. I just turned 44 last august so I figured I better grow up and start taking it serious. LOL. What is a rotorcraft simulation systems? Never heard of this.

                      Back to the tower...

I unbuttoned the padding last night and took a closer look. Turns out my rack may be slightly different or modified. I dont have those arms that stick out on top like some other earlier metcraft towers, but also I dont just have an "H" I have:

                      -----------------------------
                      | |o| |
                      -----------------------------

I have in the centre where the pivot rope mount is a support on either side. Then outboard around 16" i have another set of supports betweent the front and back bars.

It looks like it may have been repainted/powder coated but not sure.

The lap joints look good and strong. Wheph, I was fully expecting new tower here we come - now I'm almost dissapointed.

There are plenty of aftermarket tower manufacturers who would love to alleviate your disappointment!

Go figure, just too many people with too many nice things to offer - judging by the photos on their website monster tower has alot to offer Almost cant load that page at work.

That's why my wife insists I stay with ascii - speaking of which my ascii art didnt turn out as anitipated - that middle section was supposed to be more centred...

                              Thanks chpthril,
I can see that happening. What lake do you cruise? I am usually on Belews. Do you go to Jordon? I have been wandering what type of lake that is. I missed the race today, the family went out on our yearly pumpkin run. I see that our Toyota's were 2 through 8. Not a win, but what I see from what I taped we were pretty good. I guess the race started late so I missed the last 20 laps. I guess the wreck came at the end.

Hey back to the tower - I do not have any cracks on the back side of my "H" bar. Is this section suppose to come off somehow. I was looking at the front part and I had a screw on each side and it looks like it should come off because there is a gap or split all the way around the tube. I wasn't sure if it is supposed to be like this. I am planning on taking some pics tomorrow. If I can get them on tomorrow I will.
                              Thanks Guys.
Tenn. just picked the pass. Got to go watch. I love college football. Don't like Tenn or Georgia but it is a good game so far. Florida won today so I'm good.

Here are some pics of what my tower looked like. My one question is the last 3 pics should be the front of the "H" bar I think. Is this what is should look like? I mean the part that is seperated all the way around the tubing. There is a crack in the pic (tower8.jpg - last pic) this is the only crack I think I have. I am hoping that the "H" bar isn't bent, I am going to loosen the bolts and try to put it back in place. I know the man who owned this boat has been using it this way for some time now. If he would have known anything about this he would have told me.
