    Just bought a '97 2150!!!

I just bought a '97 2150 from the original owner with 225hrs on a 315hp black scorpion and it's been great! This is my first ski boat and I love it. In the last two weeks I've intalled a Monster Tower and I've just purchased an 800W Kicker sound system. My next purchase is going to be a bimini top(even SPF50 won't keep you from getting sunburn after a full day on the lake). I do have some questions that I hope this forum can answer for me:

Is there any documentation on these boats? I can't find anything on the internet for schematics, parts breakdown or repair procedures. I specifically am looking for a breakdown of changing shaft seals and winterizing.

I recently saw the layout of a rider limited edition and I love the rear layout! Is the hull essentially the same and can I convert my engine cover and rear seat to mimic this? Instead of the bench seat it has a couple of compartments in the corners and a little seat on the engine cover. I figure because of the fuel tank it can't be done but I thought I would ask.

My fuel gauge face broke yesterday and I'm trying to find a replacement gauge. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement white VDO gauge? Does anyone know the ohm rating on the gauge/sender?

Sorry about the long post but I'm exited to be a Tige owner and I'm heading back to the lake tomorrow!! I looked for 3 months on the internet while I was in the desert looking at Mastercraft, Malibu, Supra and a few others but I couldn't find what I was looking for until this boat.

    I bought a 97 2002 about a month ago.....same type deal low hours (175) good price......good luck on the manuals....there are none.....

    As far as the conversion....dunno

The fuel gauge, nearly all Tige's have partially functional fuel gauges.....I just bought a Faria Fuel Flow after waiting weeks on a NavMan F2100 (they are the chaepest fuel flow so they are always out) to put on the right side of my captains chair............With that and my partially functioning gas gauage....I should be set.....

    Post Pics!

Congratulations on the new boat! I share your excitement as I purchased a 97 2150 new. I have all the original paperwork, but the best manuals I have are from Mercruiser. I'll get the link tomorrow.

This is an awesome boat! I sent pics to Monster Tower but they cropped them slightly. http://www.monstertower.com/customerphotos/index.htm click on the tige link on the left and I'm the top set of pics.
I will post pics soon, I left the pics I took on my desktop computer.

Thanks for the help on the links, that will be a huge help.

Nice same gelcoat scheme as mine......I was curious what color to get my tower......Looks like I will be choosing black as well. How was the install?

I like the black but I think the white/polished would go with the paint scheme as well. The install was easy but you have to have help. I had my wife help me. The backing plates for the mounts are too wide for the rear mounts to fit flush under the top of the gunwale so I had them ground narrower and drilled the holes to 3/8 so the bolts would have more adjustment. It took about 3 hours once I got started.
This place still has white ones for sale about 200 less than the factory and you get a free tow rope/shipping. http://www.monstersportsworld.com/

Did the guage just break apart like this??

                Older thread about guages.

Have you tried Overton's or I found this site.

Here are some pics that I have so far. The sub and amp pics are not mine those are what I'm going to do. I have the equipment just not the intall yet.

The front cusions on the boat are cool also, The starboard one has a hump in it where your knees are. This is the first time I've seen that. My wife won't move from that spot so I dont' know how it feels yet but I assume it feels pretty good.

Your boat looks like it's in great condition! BTW, I have all Faria guages and my boat's a '99. We use it a lot and all my guages have worked since day 1. I think they used the Chessapeake line of guages, they're white and have stainless trim.

Those gauges look awesome. I think I am going to try and glue my gauge back together while I decide which gauges I want to replace those with.

I had another question also. There is no yellow plaque on the boat that lists the weight and number of people limit. I've called Tige on this but the person I needed to talk to was out on vacation. Is this an option from the factory? I would like to get this for the boat but don't know where else to look. I'm going to try the Tige service number again tomorrow.

Those Yellow Capacity stickers sometimes just fall right off

Congrats on the purchase, and if your ever up this way a bit, let me know.

I don't think it was required on boats over 21 feet long.

I think you are correct on that, but what is weird is my old boat was a 20 footer and it had it, I see allot of smaller boats that do have them.
So if you do get stopped how do you know the legal amount and weight limit of people per boat. Mine can seat three in the back and three up front (with the driver) so is that legal?? Or if three of the people weigh 200 LBS and two weigh 230 LBS, and the driver weighs 180 LBS am I over the weight limit??? (man thats a boat load of cows! )
I've never been stopped yet (knock on wood) and I mainly just have the family on board, but it would be nice to know.
