that i think is where mine is at, but I really can't remember. I'll for sure be looking. It really drives me nuts after driving a boat that is rock solid at a speed, and I know now that mine is supposed to be that way!

My paddle is directly accross from the transmission on the passanger side. I just looked . It was factory installed so I would say that behind the fresh water intake could be causing the fluctuation in speed as well.

i know mine was put in after the factory, the dealer did it. I'll be looking next week and let you know. Looks like I may be moving it, but will check the servo first.

Yeah so let us know, my son and I will be on here every now and then. We can help with most problems because we have already dealt with them ourselves.

have you had a lot of problems with your boat? I really have not had any (knock on wood) had one this last year with it not having any power at all, and what I believe it to be was a piece of impeller broken off and pluging some of the cooling lines. Only happened when we used the boat on really hot days. I replaced so much stuff on it, with no luck, then happened to run across that after talking to a great mechanic in Florida.

You can aslo change the rate that the perfect passes senses at . Increased frequncy od sampling means more precise speed holding but less smooth ride.

With a GPS can use the calibration function in perfect pass to adjust speedo to correct speed.

If you have a slalom course available to run, you can use a stopwatch and time the length of the course at a given indicated speed. Then compute your actual speed and calibrate your speedo. The speedo will vary day to day depending on boat load, ballast, water temp, wind speed & direction. Holding speed in a turn is difficult for the PP or any cruise control. Depending on the direction of turn and rate of turn, water moves at different speeds under each side of the boat. Kinda like the differential in a car. The outside tire has to rotate faster to keep up with the turn. Depending on which side of centerline your pick up is, you will see the boat try to hold different speeds for right turn vs. a left turn. Same holds true for RPM based speed. The heavier the load in the boat, the more RPMs you will need to hold a given speed.

                    Scott,

I agree with you completely, the problem is after using my friends 24 v, fully loaded with ballast there is something wrong with mine. His boat didn't budge with in .1 mph. My will go up and down sometimes as much as 2 mph and in a turn it will vary by up to 4, there is something wrong with that IMO.

One thing I have noticed with my 21i is that when HEAVILY loaded far to the stern, the boat porpoises a bit and as a result the speed oscillates. Kind of a feed-back loop in which the boat rises on plane, speeds up. then the cruise control cuts power which causes the boat to drop part way off plane and slows. then power comes on to speed the boat back up and the cycle repeats. I think this is a result of the hull being a non-planing design with a trim tab. I wonder if some of the PP settings can be tuned to break the feed-back loop before tthe oscillation gets too bad. Does your taps setting and weight distribution have any impact?

i have never had that problem, and have had well over 3000 pounds in my boat. Took a while to plane out, but once it did the wake was huge, didn't really hold the speed at all. This being said I normally don't put that much weight in. Even when I have say 5 people and maybe 500 pounds water in it still will not hold a speed at all. After using my friends 24v, his boat is 1000 heavier to begin with, plus his stock ballast and his was rock solid. Hence why I believe something is wrong.

When we bought it, it had not been run since it was winterized and on our first time out we noticed excessive water in the bilge. Didn't think much of it at the time. Took it down to lake of the ozarks for a family reunion and the Tige's maiden voyage (for us) and we load up the boat to go out for ride. We drove a couple miles found a quiet cove and someone decided they wanted to wakeboard so we set it up got him going and the wake was terrible, and he quits so we circle back and start to head home. After cruising 100 feet the boat was driving like this \ and my dad had it full throttle and moving about 15 mph. As the engine starts dieing water seeps up through the the engine compartment and soon enough were dead in the water. Luckily one of our relatives was in the same cove and towed us to the nearest marina. What happened was two hoses were not connect that should have been, thus pumping hot water into the boat AND the bilge pump got clogged with carpet fuzz and exploded. First day with the boat and were already replacing things.
At the beginning of this year we took the boat to get some fiberglass work done and when we got it back both batteries were completely dead. So we buy a new battery try to charge up the old and we still cant get it to turn over. Eventually we had to just unhook the batteries when it was not in use. Then we went on vacation to Bull Shoals with this problem, luckily the engine started every time(eventually). Found out the starter had gone bad (from when we were flooded) and was draining the batteries. Then the first time we took it out after the starter was replaced we drive out of the no wake zone and warning beep goes off. Engine was overheating. Blew out the impeller ( probably from all the dry starts we did with the battery problem). Didnt have a spare. limped our way back up river to the dock and winched it on the trailer. Then we went to rend lake and thought we lost another impeller so I (the 14 y/o son) took apart the water pump to find out theres nothing wrong with it. That vacation is when we started noticeing the steering problems and eventually replaced that but thats not too bad. One other thing was we lost our carpet in the transom, $300!!! But its been a fun 2 years.

I forgot, we also had to replace the servo motor after we flooded too.

Wow, did you buy it from a dealer? Regardless, sounds like it may be worth taking to a dealer for a once over just to make sure everything's ok.

Well we bought it used from a dealer summer of 2005. We have had it long enough that everything should be alright from now on. Unless another hose pops off or we hit something.
