engine dies after 5 mph zone?

I have a 2004 switch I. When first launched and driven out of no wake zone, the engine dies when trying to get on the throttle. it may or may not start after but when it does the engine dies again when giving it gas. this goes on for about 5-10 tries and then finally it drives normal for the rest of the day?? does anyone have and idea of what might be going on?

If you have a Merc engine it could be your idle control valve going bad.

where is your idle control valve. I have a Merc 350 315 package. and am haveing the same problems.

I don't know where the valve is or how to check it.
