03 21i Type R opinions?

Any one have any opinion/experience with an 03 21i Type R. I am considering purchasing one in real nice shape, tower, speed pass trailer ect. I plan to use it for skiing, tubing and wakeboarding.

First inboard... or Direct Drive boat? Just curious, had 1999 21i for a little bit.. . but have always had v-drives, before that boat. my wife was not a huge fan of the motor in the middle and so away it went.

but if the price is right, and something like that is not an issue. will be a excellent boat for what you list. ^^^

I realize that.. my take is test the boat out.. see how you like the layout.. and dont make the mistake i did.. and have your wife kinda not so thrilled.

I am just saying my wife was the factor.. not the boat.... lol I loved it.. pulled true to speed, and put out a great wake.

That boat should do all of those things your wanting to do pretty good. You can add some ballast and get a pretty good wakeboard wake. I have an 04 21i so yours should have the good tower on it, not a metcraft. Where do you live? Does it already have a heater and cold/ hot shower? Nice to have depending on your location.

It's one of my all time favorite D-Drives. As a traditional D-Drive, it has one of the most comfortable interiors of any boat. It's a Tige, so it will do very well in rough water. Having the taps is awesome. As a recreational skier, it would be extremely difficult to find a better boat. Still plenty good to run through the course as well. I run my boat through the course occasionally so the 21i would be even better. The wakeboard wake isn't going to win any awards but, with some ballast in the trunk, it will outperform most D-Drives. Eventually, you'll want to surf. It'll do that better than most as well. That does take a bit more setup to really get it respectable but, it is entirely possible.
