Does anyone know the Belt size for the 350 5.7? 1999 2100i?

And where I can get engine parts for the motor.. I need the belt pulleys.. Is it just a Chevy motor so I can go to autozone and get the parts?

Idler pulleys are 807757T and belt is 57-8077555Q04, Mercruiser only. I think the only thing you can get for these engines at auto zone is the TPS and oil. perfprotech.com to look up parts.

The velvet drive is a Borg-Warner unit with a 1:1 gear ratio

Thx I've been doing some research is it a 71c or 72c, also what is the drive damper? I it like a clutch? Thinking if it is that could be a reason when I surf the boat sounds like the tranny is slipping also

The drive plate is actually a spring loaded plate resembling a clutch that transfers the power from the engine to the transmission. However, it does not act like a clutch but rather the springs absorb the initial shift force and then continue to transfer engine power to the transmission. When a drive plate fails it sounds like you have marbles in the bell housing. Your transmission is a borg warner 71C 1:1 ratio.

Fuel sending unit is located under the rear "trunk" and is easy to change. I believe the fuel tank depth is only 8" so measure for sure and get a WEMA unit to replace it.

Awesome will thx a lot? Do you know of a place that rebuilds the transmissions? Mine isn't blow or nothin just thought it might be a good idea to get it fully looked at by a pro and change whatever is worn out since its a 99.. I can take it out just don't know if there is anywhere I could send it off to.

Look up velvet drive dealers and repair facilities in your area, they'll get it done for you. FYI, we replaced a transmission on an old chris craft last year, the same 71c 1:1 ratio our boats have, with a new take off unit we got on ebay for $800.

Did u install it your self, I would think its pretty simple to remove and install.. I'll be chancing the fluid on Thursday and hopefully that will cure the issue I have but if it doesn't then I need it repaired, I found rebuilt 71c for 950$ threw hale marine so that's now to bad as long as I'm able to install it. I just want it to run goo without any problems and so far that is the only problem I've had

Easy replacement: disconnect prop shaft and push back till it hits the rudder, loosen the TOP nuts on the front motor mounts (1 1/8 box end), put blocks of wood underneath the oil pan being cautious not to put any under the oil pan drain fitting (center of rear sump), loosen the BOTTOM nuts of the aft motor mounts until motor is resting on blocks, remove 4 or 6 bolts/nuts and lay them out in order and position they were removed, remove shifter cable and cooler hoses on transmission, remove transmission (about 80lbs). Install is reverse, but check your prop shaft alignment if you remove or change position of the motor mount nuts I did not say to touch.

This is a little off topic, but those posting seem to be quite knowledgeable about the engines in the 1999 2100i. I'm looking at purchasing a used 1999 Tige 2100i and the owner is not sure of the HP rating for his boat. All he knows is that it is a Mercruiser 350. The boat is 2 hours away, so I wanted to do some research before making the drive. Do any of you know the HP options for that particular year? Also, how difficult is the impeller to replace. I had a PCM engine in my last direct drive and it was a pain. My buddy's 1995 ProStar 205 was very easy. Not sure on the location for the Mercruisers.

Lastly, the owner wasn't sure on the passenger rating for this model. He thought either 9 or 11. I'm assuming 9, but wanted to confirm with others that have the same boat. I've heard good things about these boats and look forward to checking one out in person.

                            Thanks,
                            New guy

                              Welcome to the site

Looks like seating according to specs is 9 people. Impeller is pretty easy to change out. They are on the front of the engines driven by the belt. Few hose clamps, loosen belt, and few bolts whole assmbly comes out. Then easy to change from there. Far as HP all depends on what fuel system it has on it. Can be carb, throttle blody fuel injection or multi-port fuel injection. So rougly 260-340HP depending on engine model if I remember correctly, If not guys here will correct me
They are good boats if they were taken care of, like anything just have to check it over and test drive. Oh and if you do buy it post up some pics of it.
