Hello everyone,

I decided to start a thread in here for my boat so that I could keep track of everything in one spot.
My boat will be undergoing a HUGE face lift starting this winter and will use this thread to post pics and keep up on questions and help that I may need along the way.

VERY FIRST QUESTION!!!!!!

I am missing the drivers side section of my windshield glass. Have been since I bought the boat but it allowed me to get a killer deal on the boat. I NEED TO KNOW what the windshield number is or was for the glass on my style boat. I know that it was made by water bonnet but I need to get ahold of the serial number. Havnt tried tige yet but prolly will if nobody can help me out here.

I don't even know where you would find those numbers for the winshield. It seems everybody that has tried lately has come to the conclusion you need to replace the entire windshield with a new one.

Ya thats what im being told mostly to.

I contacted Taylormade and they are telling me to first contact tige to get the windshield glass serial number first to see if they can still produce the windshield and to also get a better idea of what shape my glass and frame is so that they can then begin to work out which type of their new windshield frames will fit on my boat....its becoming such a big pain in the A$$!!!!

oh and taylormade first told me a new frame and windshield would cost around $1200 to get it to my door and now they are saying $3000-$4000!!!....im gonna flip out lol. The windshield replacement is gonna prove to be the biggest hardest most expensive fix/upgrade i do to my boat....but it must be done!!!

Have you thought about taking it to an auto glass shop? Got to be able to make one custom for under $1,200.

Have you looked online at any boat salvage yards? That would be my first step.

can someone point me to some good boat salvage yards to look at? i have spent an hour in the past trying to locate boat yards that anything other than ocean boats and ocean boat related parts....no luck there...

and i have tried the 2 auto glass shops in my area...both said they would not even try to attempt to make glass for it because it would be to expensive and they didnt have the capability anyways....they suggested plexiglass but with only having a 3-4 year life span along with them only selling me the sheet and having me attempt to mold and fit it myself i told them they are no help....im at a loss....

HOWEVER i did just get ahold of Tige and they found the part number for me so now im waiting to hear back from Taylormade to see if they can source me some glass or if they will have to set me up with a whole new frame and glass.

Hmm...The Rancho Marine Recycling number has been disconnected...ill see if i can find another number for them and then browse the websites you provided to see if i can find any other promising boat yards.
