been anything going on in this forum so I thought I would stir the pot.


We have read about people on here getting new V's has anybody got a new I? Or on order?

I was starting to really feel like I was in the minority. (Actually I am pretty sure that I am). Looks like people are trending to 22 and 24' boats.

We just got an '06 20i and found a lake last weekend without ice so we could take it out! It is yellow and storm grey with a polished tower. I will post some pics as soon as I download them off of my camera.

It was a little bit of a tough call because my wife and I still love to slalom, but we are starting to wakeboard also. When we demoed the 20i we thought it had an awesome slalom wake.

With the taps at 8 the wake wasn't bad for a couple of wakeboard rookies either.

Now if summer would just hurry up and get here!!!! I walk by out boat every day because it is parked in the back of my office. It is torture! The other day I sat in it and drank a beer and listened to the stereo. Is there a support club for that?

It looks as if the i's are being fazed out.I went to the boat show 2 days ago Tige showed only v's.I have an 03 i and was wanting to see the new 20i.I drove the 06 20v and loved it,I would like to do the same with the 20i.Must be tough in Co.with the winters and a new boat.I've been getting mine ship shape with tower speakers,new steering cable,hatch in front walkway,waxed and ready to go.It will be a month or so hear in Nashville before we can get on the water.

I'm feeling the pain of the longest winter of my life, too. My boat's practically new - it's an '05 22i leftover, which we picked up in 11/05. I broke my arm the week we brought it home, so I only got to ride behind it once . That put an end to any thoughts of drysuit riding this winter, so I went ahead and winterized (even though it's in my attached garage - I'm paranoid of a power outage during a cold snap...).

Yes, I've had my share beer and tunes in the boat this winter, too - I actually watched some bowl games in it on my little garage tv over Christmas and New Years. I've had the tarp on and off of it numerous times, even in the garage - I'm sick. It still looks sweet even w/the tarp on, and my wife likes it on because then she doesn't find me out there at all hours sitting just sitting in the boat.

Our '06 season will start in March - inside of two months now!

bneub...very nice looking boat. I like the colors and you guys are hard core to be out in 38 degree water... With the wind and the water that cold, even with the air temp at 60ish, it still had to feel pretty cold!!! Well done!!!

As for sitting in the boat, I when I have it out from under the tent, my wife knows where to find me... Today we had rain, so it was all buttoned up and lovingly put away under the 40 feet worth of tent. That's pretty excessive huh...

By the way, we went out last weekend and the water here in So Cal at Elsinore was 57/58 and teh air was roughly 72. Pretty nice. Wetsuits did the job and the new heater was one of the best things I have ever bought!!!

If I thought my wife would let me get away with draging our boat to So. Cal. right now I would do it! But since it won't happen, you suck.

When the water hits 60 in Colorado, we put the wetsuits away. But then it is usually late June.

We may go again today. Supposed to be 61 with no wind. There is a snow storm coming tonight so it might be the last chance for a while. I'm an accountant so I will be working 7 days a week for the next 2 months also. Can't wait for April 16th......

Tige i's

From a dealer standpoint this is the first time we are not showing the Tige I series in our BHM show. I do love the way they drive but it seems in the southeast the V's have gotten more popular. Our entry level Tige will be the 20V instead of a 21i this year. I talked to other dealers at this years dealer meeting and it seems the i's are still popular. Maybe it is just our area.

With boat show space becoming both more expensive and hard to come by, dealers sometimes have to make a decision as to what models to leave at home. It's not always possible for a dealer to take one of every model, which would be 8 boats. Rarely do you see any dealer of any brand display 8 different models.

And with V's being a sure hit with the customers, unfortunately, the I's sometimes get left out. It does vary slightly by territory, as I's are still very popular in the Midwest and Northeast, at least probably more-so than the rest of the country.

The 22i is still the most unique direct-drive in the industry and no one has a floorplan or performance that can compete with it. The 21i is a staple in our line, it's the most roomy 21' direct drive on the market and has cool features that no one else offers, such as Skybox Seating, contoured bow seats and a TWO person observers seat. The 20i, with it's newly redesigned interior, has been a huge hit this year. Every dealer who has stocked it is having great success with it.

So rest assured that the 'I' is NOT being fazed out! We still love building, driving and using direct-drives ourselves. With V-drives being the more popular of the two boats, they will sometimes get a little more attention. But as I mentioned, we will strive to continue bringing you the best direct-drives on the market as well!

I still love my '00 22i. The most comfortable Tige ever. I might even consider buying a new one if it was as comfy as mine,..........Nick Howard. With the introduction of Malibu's XTi's, I feel the D-drives are actually on a come back. Besides Malibu there are other makes trying to tap into the D-drive market. Kudos to Tige for keeping the D-drive alive as a viable wake boat. What you don't see is a 22' D'drive with a "standard" lay out. No funky seating configuration or lounges or walk throughs or contoured seats, just a giant back seat, giant observers seat and a giant open bow. I've been running around in mine for 5 years now and everyone wants to ride in it because they say it is just so damn comfortable. Instead of the latest and greatest 22i ever, I sure wish Tige would at least look at the '00. The simple design gives you so much more room to make the seats BIG. I'm 6' and can completely lay across the back seat without touching either side. I can sit in the bow facing front or back and completely stretch out my legs without touching the seat backs with my feet. I can completely stretch out my legs without touching the bulkhead while driving. I can fit 3 people on the observers seat without the seat in front of the walkthrough. The point is, the thing is big everywhere. When you start trying to come up with new, fancy seating, what you end up with is cramped seating. I know that the newer 22i was built to make more room for ballast but with the new hulls, do you really need it. I know that with a 350 in the trunk and 350 in the bow my surf wake is way better than my boss's '05 23' V-drive Malibu with full tripple balast tanks and wedge deployed. So you tell me Tige, why not at least consider putting together a "retro" package for the best D-drive ever.
