hey guys, new to the site and am excited to have my first boat. just picked up a 1994 2002 fslm comp with 370 hrs and is very clean. what should i watch for with this craft, how many hours between oil changes...someone give me the rundown on this boat please...hope i posted in the right section...thanks

I have the closed bow version of your boat. Just watch the low bow, if you see a larger wake heading for you, throttle up to get the bow out of the water a bit, unless you want to rinse the interior of the boat out.
Inboards handle a bit differently that other boats, so practice docking and other slow speed manuvers. In forward, you really only have steering when the prop is turning. Yes the rudder will still steer when the boat is in neutral, but not much.
Reverse is only good for backing up ine one diection, the direction of 5 o'clock. You'll have very little steering in reverse. I've found you can spin the boat in about a thirty foot circle with practice. I turn the rudder hard left and bump the throttle in and out of gear, the boat will spin counter clockwise.
I run two 450# sacs for surfing, we don't wakeboard, so I can't tell you the setup for that. Regular maintenance will include oil changes every 50 hours, or once in the fall. That means engine and transmission. Change the intake impeller every spring and keep the old one as a back up. Winterization...check around the site here, everyone has a different way.

It is a beautiful boat. I will try to upload some pictures of mine for you also. Mine is identical even in hours but my colrs are tan, and forest green with forest green trailer. I just picked up the boat last week, and have only taken it out one time. Did you get the Tige boat manual with yours? I would like to get more information on the boats. Love yo know their hull desin, and overall make up.

Yeah, sorry about that, a little rude huh? I'm a newbie here. I've grown up skiing behind mastercrafts but have always loved the tige's so I just bought my first. I'll get some pictures of her on here soon. I've just been working out bugs & learning the little quirks. I'm getting my prop reworked but I'm wanting to get a new one to be my #1. I'm mostly a slalom guy but would like something good for a wakeboard too. Any suggestions? It's an 18 year old boat so its got some quirks but I love it already & I'm sure you guys can guess the colors. I do have plenty questions!

I have a 1995, I upgraded to the ACME 525. I primarily ski also, the prop helped a lot with the pull out of the water, it also helps maintain speed when you have a skier tugging the boat much better than the old stock stainless prop, and even added a few MPH on the top end. And you will love the slalom wake this boat puts out.
Are you able to get up your motor RPMs up? I want to say my boat topped out at 46 mph at WOT. If it hasn't been run in a while take a look at the distributor and rotor, also I'd pull the plugs and see if they need replacing. How old is the gas? I'd also pull apart the carburetor and clean or replace the jets, I bet there is a thin film on the ID of the jets that are starving your boat for fuel. This happens all the time on my dirt bike if I don't ride for a few months. If your boat has been sitting a while, I'd also recommend buying two fuel/water separators, replace one now, and one after your first or second tank.

I can only get 36-37 mph out of mine. That's with the new 300HP engine and the stock 13 x 13 SS factory prop. I think the RPM's were around 3500.
I'm going to try to do some tuning this year to see if I can get a little more out of it.The luck is gone, the brain is shot, but the liquor we still got.
