Has anyone tried installing ballast in the 2000 22i? I know that I can add fat sacks, but I would prefer not to have the big ballast tanks bouncing around everyone's feet.
How much ballast are you guys using for this boat to get a good wake?
I'm using locker sacs. I cant remember if they are 500# or 650#. I put one in the trunk and one in the bow walk through. They are pretty out of the way like that. I would like to build something in the bow walk through to enclose the sac or mabey have a tank built just for it. I'm looking into a centrifugal pump system that wouldn't require wiring a pump. Doubtful it will work though. I'll probably just wire up a Ballast Puppy. I'm still in the early planing stages. The weight and ballance are definately good though.
Open tanks on the floor? NEVER. I don't even like the sac in the walk through. It just works to well to get rid of it. I think once it is built in and finished off, it will be nice.
When I said "open in the floor" I should have said sitting out in the open. As in, just laying on the floor in the way of people moving back and forth. Is there any room under the deck of these boats to plumb a tank that is recessed and completly out of the way. It would probably mean taking the entire interior out which would be a serious job!
