    Still won't idle up?

Hi, ok here's my story......I bought a 2006 20i with the 5.7L marine power. Got it home and the boat won't idle up..if you turn the key forward and wait a few secs then start it, the beeper stays on and it won't idle up. But if you start it by turning the key straight on to turn the engine over everything seems to be fine, the beeper goes off and the engine will idle up.

Two weeks ago I took it on the lake to try it out and broke a rod in the engine, I just got it back with a new engine and am a little nervous about taking it out as it's still doing the same thing and the dealer has no time to look at it. Any suggestions?

What do you mean "idle up"? Engine idles, doesn't idle, doesn't run? Won't start? It turns over but doesn't start? With the key situation do you mean: Turn the key to "on" for 1 sec then turn to "start" and the buzzer stays on? And: Turn the key from "off" immediately to "start" everything seems fine? Sorry, I must first get clarification before attempting to diagnose.

Ok, the boat will idle fine. But it won't rev up. If u turn the key to the right and wait for the fuel pump to cut in then turn it to start the boat will start and idle but it wont throttle up it just stays at 800RPM and the beeper remains on. But if you turn the boat off and then turn the key all the way to the right to start it without waiting for anything the boat starts and idles and it will throttle up and the beeper turns off?

Oh okay, there's a few threads on here about the drive by wire tps in the throttle having an issue and it sounds like that's one of your problems. You may also have a code stored in the computer not allowing it to throttle up above idle (limp mode) and will require a code reader to further diagnose. Good luck.
