Need Tower Advice for 1998 Tige 22i

Looks like I will be replacing the 2001 Metcraft Tower I have on my 1998 Tige 22i. Any suggestions for a tower that looks great and fits that particular year and model would really help. Thanks!!

I like mine. It's a Boss Billet. I really don't know the feasibility of getting one on yours being that your in Indy and they are based in Sac. CA. I'm sure you can get a Phat Buddie or a Monster Tower. Both are stong but, I personally hate the way the Monster looks. I hear nothing but good things about them though. Sturdy, easy to take down and inexpensive. They are both pretty much do it yourself if you're handy like that. I had the boys at Boss build mine out of 2 3/8" stainless to my boat, piece by piece. It's a pricey way to do things but the overall finish was worth the 4k I put into it. After four years with the Metcraft, I felt like I needed to do something nice for my Tige and me.

Your in Indy. How 'bout that Tony Stewart!?

Sounds like a heck of a set up. Any pics where I can check it out at?? Is it night and day form the Metcraft you had?

And, for the race... Didn't make it this year because we where down at Cumberland. I heard the race was great but I'll trade butter on a big lake for it any day^

Night and day is a mild way to put it. No shake, no rattle, no squeak. Stong, stiff, quiet. My "members gallery" has a few pictures in it. I had new frame work built for the old bimini with some upgrades in the mounting design. I wanted to keep the framework as compact as possible to keep as much space open as I could around the tower. That meant no straps. It ended up being really rigid also. Blew my toy budget though.

Found the pics. That's a great looking tower, congrats... I like the side mount on the back. I know the ledge on my 98 only leaves a little room for the tower mount so a side mount would be ideal...

Thanks. I spent a lot of time researching towers and manufacturers. For what I wanted to do, this is what it worked out to be. The side mount was actually necessary do to the limited space on the top side. I actually wanted to mount it top side but, with the 2 3/8" tubing they would have had to make custom mounts. I was already past my budget at the time so we did it that way. It turned out giving me more room inside the tower so I like it now. It's so much nicer when your out on the water. That is when you will really thank yourself.

Nice boat by the way. I'm a huge fan of mine. It's a keeper. Can you touch your feet to the bulkhead with your seat all the way back? I can't on mine and that is one of my favorite things about our model before they went to the new configuration. Is it not the most comfortable tow boat you've ever been in?

I have a Phat Budde on my 97 2150 and have no complaints.

Anyone seen the new Metcraft Tower coming out? I think it's going on Centurion.

                      NEW METCRAFT

Check out zleeper's members gallery. I know the one he has is some sort of prototype. I'm not sure if it is the one you are talking about but, at least you can see that Metcraft is producing some cutting edge designs.

Yep thats the metcraft tower that they are working on. Anyone had a chance to see if it sits nice and tight with no shake rattle and roll? How about the bimini top, work well? I sent a PM to Z so maybe he will respond back.

I keep looking at the monster tower page and I am going back and forth. I know it sounds like it goes on tight but I am worried about the height and look over all on my 98 22i. With the beam on that boat will the tower set low? I'm trying to get used to the look of the Monster tower still...

                          Thanks,

                          B
