Remove side padding vinyl 2002 22i

Hey guys. I need to remove and replace the vinyl on the right side wall padding. This would be right behind the drivers right arm and throttle. The one that runs the full length from drivers seat back to rear seats. Anyone have any advice on how this comes out? I've attached a picture showing the rail I'm talking about.

    Thanks,
    Brandon

I believe if you spread apart the seem they just have wood screws every foot or so. That's how mine was attached to the wall.

Should just be screws but occasionally the will through in 1/4 bolt also depending panel placement. I had both in my 22v. Grab a screw gun put it on a low torque setting with a long bit. 6" or longer. I just probed around and you can feel the screw heads. Make sure put stainless screws back in you are replacing any.

This is the fun part. There are 1/4" nuts that thread onto studs coming out of the padded panel. You need to get out your monkey arms and reach in the various access holes and undo the nuts. You may have to take other panels off first. Remove the throttle panel and if you have a side speaker remove it for access. Good Luck. We took all of our panels of to wire speakers, and wash and wax the inside of the hull. Ours is a 2007, so maybe it is different.

Attached is a photo showing the inside of our hull with the padded panel off. The 1/4" studs go through the elongated holes and the nuts with oversized washer attach from the cavity between the inside and outside hull.Tige Inside (7).jpg

Thanks guys. I don't see any screws between the seams on the padding so I will definitely have to borrow some monkey arms. Mine aren't long enough nor skinny enough haha. Nice pic TigeTail thanks.

I was able to spread the seams apart enough to find the screws. No bolts or tnuts just screws. Its off now and getting reupholstered. Thanks all for your help.
