20CI STERN STORAGE COMPARTMENT PADDED COVER.

I removed the stern storage compartment padded cover to replace the broken bungee cord and net. I found the plywood board soaked. There was no way for this lid to drain. I removed the cover and padding. What kind composite material do I need to replace this with. Is my floor under my carpet soaked also? Please reply. 1999 20ci

i have a 99 and i just barely got my back hatch back from the upholstery shop yesterday. Same problem as you, the wood was rotted and the screws had stripped out. I had them replace the wood with what i guess is a hard plastic. I am sure a local upholstery can get you the materials
