2002 21i...Does it exist?

Was there a 2002 21i or did they start in 2003. In the model specs for 02 I can only find 22i. If it does exist, the hull was the newer design without the wake pockets. Right?

It does exist but, I'm not sure of the spray pockets.

I'm not sure there is such a beast. A 21i is not listed under the 02 model lineup. The guy selling this one is measuring it out at 21'4" which I think is a 22i. The hull looks like the '03 style though as the freeboard and bow seem to sit a little higher.

Did you confirm the year model by the HID (hull ID)? Last 2 digits will be the year model.

Does it have a rear bench? '01 was the year they went to the new style interior on the 22i. If it has the full rear bench then it is the 21i.

The '02 21i is the same as the '98 - '02. low profile boat and yes on the spray pockets. Major change was the '03 boat.

I can clarify this now as we did the deal and I now have the boat. The 21i model is missing from Tiges '02 lineup brochure with the exception of the last column which states the '02 21i is coming in mid-year. I sent the HIN to Tige and they confirmed that while my boat is an '02 model, it was built mid-year using the new convex V hull (same hull as the 21V). So it is an '02. boat with the convex V hull, no spray pockets either.

I would like to inform everybody that there was indeed a 2000 21i. As pointed out by Zad the hull was changed in 2003. My uncle has got one of them and I will be meeting him soon. I will ask him further details. I will also be posting photos of his boat.

I also have an 02 21ir that was made with the 03 mold. They were made late in 02.

Yup, that's the same as mine. We had a snowstorm last night so yesterday I decided to get her into dry storage before the snow hit. I brought the boat up from California so I had to have the trailer inspected for Transport Canada prior to insuring. Got her in the barn before the big storm came. She's there until end of March. I can't wait to get her out as I'm ITCHING to go. Winter is going to be tooooo long.
