last season I had slippage when I was weighted down for surfing. I sucked out all of the fluid, and I had 1.5 quarts in the transmission. per the old guidelines, I dumped 2 quarts into the transmission. But if memory serves me correctly, this bulletin states that they are supposed to hold three quarts...

I just got the boat out of storage and I have not lake tested it to see if my slippage issue has been resolved. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I was just low and I did not cause any damage to the clutch packs...

Thanks Super, I would really like to know. I have only been putting in 1 1/2 quarts so on my dipstick it reads 1/4 high when cold (per my manual). I really haven't had any issues but I want to make sure I have enough oil in the tranny. I was getting cavitation when weighted done but when I changed the prop it went away.

Today I had 8 people in my 2003 21i type r and noticed that i had some slipping after about 3 hours of wake-boarding. I also noticed that the edges of my prop were not clean and one had a small chip out of it. could this also probably be prop cavitation

can I get that link as well Tgustman@gmail.com

Page 6 on the link below to the velvet drive owners manual states the correct way to check the fluid when it is hot (for expansion) and immediately on engine shut off (before drain back from cooler). Engines are all different on cooling line length and type of cooler so there is no correct amount per se until you determine it for your boat. http://www.marineryachts.com/borg_manual.pdf

Update. Success! Only ran 1000 lbs. but, zero slip. Fingers still crossed but it feels good.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.
