Tower

I have a 1997 Pre2150wt, is there a good tower that I can add to the boat. My main concern is the structural integrity of the hull after install. Has anyone added one? If so, what brand/model, and what pitfalls should I watch out for.

I also have a 97 2150. I added a Phat Budde tower and haven't had any problems. Dealer installed. You need to purchase a new bimini. That is about the only drawback I had. I just posted a picture of my boat in the galleries section of this site.

I have the same tower as teamallen. I love it and get nothing but compliments.
The only drawback is the foam on the racks at 7 years old has gotten brittle. I just tell the kids to be carefull and so far only my board has paid the price. LOVE PHAT BUDDE

Check out the Monster Tower. It's amazingly quiet!

I have a Joystick brand tower on my '98 pre2100wt. I wouldn't buy another one. It has cracked the gelcoat and is difficult to collapse (a must to fit in my garage). It looks kinda cheap too IMO.

The speakers they sell are awesome, too! Ditto for the bimini.

Which of the monster tower speakers did you get?

How loud are they?

I got the Tantrums. I'm driving them with a Kenwood 7202 2 channel amplifier (about 150W RMS). I can hear them when I'm wakeboarding and it's not too loud in the boat. I imagine you'd get twice the power out of the double barrel speakers, but I figured that would be a little overkill and my wife would have me committed. My two boys think they're cool so she hasn't given me any grief about it yet. At this point, she just chocks it up to my ongoing mid-life crisis (in my 15th year of it now ).
