First 2 weeks of boat ownership!

Ok after the first 2 weeks of owner ship it has been a bit of work. But it is paying off...

First thing was the not working TAPS.

    Removed the pump and reservoir.

Found it to be almost empty...

Filled it up put it back in still nothing.

Checked power and ground's at the pump.. found I had no ground. Got under the drivers steering wheel found the relay, also found a ground wire going to it cut. Repaired the wiring and vola TAPS is now working. Cost: 1 bottle ATF and some wire crimps.

Also installed a battery kill switch. The previous owner was just pulling the cable off every time he was done. This winter I plan on wiring in a dual battery setup.

Ok this thing needed a DEEP cleaning in a BAD way.
Removed most the interior and scrubbed it down really good came out A LOT whiter afterward.

    Under the front carpet.

I found all these bottles behind that speaker area.

I vacuumed and cleaned the carpets then borrowed my friends carpet extractor. This this kicks A$$ it pulled so much sand and dirt out made the carpet look almost new.

And I seem to be missing my after pics sorry.. I will take some new ones...

Up next the exterior she is naked.

The hull was so freaking stained yellow.

I purchased a product made by Star Bright from my local marine shop. This stuff worked AMAZING but is was pretty nasty. The first ingredient was some sort of acid.

I just wiped this on, let sit for 30 sec's then sprayed off with water.

I then used another Star Bright product that was supposed to restore the color.. It worked ok.

New decals on... I kinda screwed them up a little installing them it has a small wrinkle.. When I was cleaning the boat they got a little wet ( the decal paper) and warped the paper so it made it really hard to install... I may remove them this winter and install a new set ( they are only like 25 bucks on E-bay)

I got my first wakesurf board this week, my ballast showed up Saturday, and have a ACME prop on its way but according to the tracking # wont make it before I head out for Labor day weekend.

But I am going to try some wake surfing this next weekend and some ballast placement testing... really wish I had the prop sooner O well.

I was. They are just like mine, only mine are chrome. It is not about the trailer anyway. The boat is looking pretty sweet.

My wheels look a little worse than that, but it is about the boat not the trailer!! Sweet job. I did the similar work yesterday. Used FSR to clean the hull, next was a McGuires product to remove oxidation and finally waxed it with McGuires. I will take some pics in a bit once the sun comes back out!

              Sweet job lohe!!!

Looks good, but you will probably have to wet sand the transom to get rid of the color fade.

That is great, just hope you eventually finish working on it. It seems like no matter what you do there is always one more thing you want to do. It looks like you're doing it right though, taking it all apart to make sure you don't miss any hidden messes.

That looks really good. However, those rims should be okay if they are chromed.
