    Replace engine cover lifts

Any ideas for replacing the two lifts that hold up the engine cover?
Mine bend & break too easy,

Is it ok to eliminate them entirely?

Is their a better one on the market to perhaps replace them with?

    Thanks for any imput.

There was a previous post about this same subject dated 12/13/04, titled "Motor cover shocks".

I recommend replacing them. My freind has a new Mastercraft (first mistake) and was changing the oil. The cover came down on his bare toe and practically severed it completely. He was a permanent driver for the entire summer. I don't think his toenail ever grew back.

      Thanks.
I'm not looking for stock shocks replacement.

I'm looking for the "Shocks" that are stronger, open farther, and are easier to detach so I can open the engine cover all the way with little or no hassle.

I check the fluids every time out, and the stock ones bend or break, or are a plain hassle.

We had a water leak the last tripo and the engine cover supports were the problem, not the water leak leak.

With the 22i, we remove the shocks and the brackets off the floor. That way you will be able to open the engine box up all the and get to the engine alot easier.

You just eliminated them entirely not putting them back on?
That's what I want to do.
No chance of the engine cover blowing open in tow?

Way too heavy to do that, at least at speeds under 80mph.
