Just curious to see if anyone here has been having chronic failures of the speedo and/or speedset on 2008 Z1 boats. Apparently there are a handful of Z1 boats doing this, mine is one of them. Would like to talk to anyone else on here who is having the same problem, especially if you have managed to get Tige to fix it. PM me if you like.

What is you symptom(s)?
When you say "chronic failures of the speedo/speed set" what in particular is failing? The paddle wheel, Tri-ducer, speedo head, Speed Set head? Are they replacing the same part over and over or just replacing parts one at a time till they get it fixed and telling you that each part is bad?Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

da.bell and chpthril, thanks for the questions.
On the delivery drive, the speedset wouldn't work. The speedset control pad was replaced and it worked.
1.5 running hours later, the speedo stopped working and stayed at zero. Replaced the triducer and the speedo worked for 1 engine start/shutdown cycle and quit again.
Then they replaced the ECM. That solved it for several weeks.
Then the speedset would only work if the engine goes through a start cycle immediately prior to setting it.
Then a couple weeks later, the speed readout started under reading by 5-10MPH and surging up and down 5mph in constant RPM driving. Very weird, frustrating electrical problems that are beyond the dealer's ability to repair.
The dealer has referred the problem to Tige Boats, but after having my boat all winter, it still isn't fixed, I'm still getting the runaround and I'm NOT happy.
I really hate to air dirty laundry on a public forum, but I'm at my wits end with Tige Boats and am wondering if I am the only one that has experienced this sort of nonsense with them.

I dont think the cause is the Speed-Set components, what you are experiencing is the "effect" or symptom of what I believe to be a plain old power or grounding issue. Just find it hard to believe that all those components have been replaced and the problem continues. There's nothing else related to the Speed-Set left to replace, but the problem is still there means they're hunting the wrong field with a shotgun during bow season.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More
