Setting the LPF to Rear worked on my Clarion XMD3 for the tuner but I still cannot hear the rear speakers when playing a CD?! Am I just hearing (or not hearing as it were) things?

The only thing I can think of that would cause this is that when your stereo was wired, they hooked the amplifier turn-on lead to the antenna power wire instead of the amp turn on wire.

Basically, if that is the case, your amps will not turn on when playing a CD. THey will only turn on when playing the FM radio.

Grab a test light, and check to see if you have power going to the amp's remote turn on wire during FM radio, and then check it during CD playback.

If you do not have it during CD, but the amp is on for FM, you need to connect it to the other blue wire coming from the back of the head unit.

(There are two blue wires, one has a white stripe, one is all blue.)
