I had to apply the adhesive myself (airjunky was out of the adhesive-backed stuff) so I used 3M 90 spray adhesive, applied to both deck and pad. Put it on and it was done. Pretty easy replacement, and the whole family loves it.
Yes, the gator grip is MUCH more comfortable, and soft. Also grippier.

Sorry, ragboy, for taking this , blame da.bell for asking for pics.

For the Traxx (aka Gator Grip), I decided to get away from black. I liked the look, but didn't care for the scorched knees and feet due to the extreme summer heat here. So, the grey and white Traxx matched really well to the grey and white gelcoat. I replaced the swim platform pad, as well as the little traction pad on top of the transom. Overall it looks a little bit lighter than I would prefer, but the cooler temps makes it worthwhile. We all love the softer feel and the grip it provides when wet. Like I said earlier, it was a fairly easy replacement that almost anyone could handle if they are looking to swap out traction pad.

No problem with the heat, I can't remember the last time my step wasn't under water!

Looks sweet Dingle. How long have you had it on there? Any problems with the adhesive? I hate the OEM stuff. Any links on where to buy?

It's only been on about ten days or so, but I've heard a lot of folks say they've had it on for years and still in great shape. You can buy it at airjunky.com (they call it Traxx) or wakejunky.com (Gator Grip). Most people buy it with the adhesive backing, but both of those places were out of that in my color, so I got it without. At airjunky's recommendation I used 3M 90 spray adhesive, which seemed to work great.

I don't know about this but, If adhesive is an issue all of the PWC guys use the brush on DAP wood contact cement on traction pads. I used it to install Hydro Turf on a PWC it was great.

I had the Gator Grip on my old boat for 7 years with absolutely not one problem. The factory stuff peeled up after one summer.
