    WooHoo, New Graphics!

OK, first a bit of business. I got tired of blogging on my own site, and then posting here, and then over at wakeworld sometimes. So I am working on a real nice site and blog, but its not quite done yet, but I am posting there. Here is a link to the post I just did about my new graphics. You must see, tell me what you think.

So did your wake9 name come from the total number of family members?

I used to be a member in the past.

            Looking good!!!

Not that you asked for any, but my only critique is that the graphic on the side of the boat could be interpreted as wake9nine.com rather than wake9.com. It may be confusing to idiots like me (and there is a lot of us out there!).

So, when we will be able to get T-shirts, hoodies, hats, visors, etc.? WE NEED GEAR!!!

Nice job on the graphics, I'm in the process of designing my new graphics as well. Glad to see that more people are out there designing their own stuff!

Not really, but there are 9 of us always going out, when you include our dog river. I couldn't find any good domain, for months. I did get wakesurfsafe.com. One of the main goals of the site is to promote wakesurfing as a safe family sport, not a sport from a bunch of yayhoos trying to sink the boat. But it just sounds too weenie. Sounds like the sister site to www.growapair.com.

So I thought of one my favorite online entities, digg.com. The extra g is unique, becomes a branding thing, and only there to make a short domain name that is available. Digg has a sister company, revision3.com. revision3, the 3 is there for same reason, just to find a name availalbe, but it rolls off the tongue. So I thought, what is my favorite 1 digit number? I always loved 2, and 9. 2 didn't roll of the tongue, and 9 did. Plus, 9 sounds like you are pushing it to the extreme. A wakeboard wake is like a wake4 or wake5, where a good surf wake is like a wake9, get it? Tige taps kinda had some of that mentality in me. TAPS only goes to seven, but what if it went to 9? A bit of spinal tap in there also. Also, after getting the domain and thinking of logo ideas, I was looking at pictures of tbone surfing. We pull tbone at slower speed, which makes the curl more pronounced. I noticed the curl on the goofy side could look like a 9. So I went to my artist, and got him working on it. Maybe next year tige will make a boat, where taps goes all the way to 9, that would be cool, of course it would make no difference. Maybe I will get a custom taps guage made, where it goes to 9, and the 9 looks like the 9 from wake9.

And because of idiots like you, I own wake9.com, wake9.net, wakenine.com, wakenine.net, wake9nine.com, wake9nine.net. Just kidding on the idiot part. But you can go to any of those domains, and they all go to http://wake9.com/.

                Gear will be available soon.

Wake9 does have a business plan, which will be revealed in layers, as time progresses, over weeks, not months. It is very unique, and involves the ENTIRE family, which is so cool to me and the only thing that makes it worthwhile. But FOREMOST, wake9 is about the love of wakesurfing and the love of doing it as a family. It is about promoting the sport as a safe and responsible thing to do. And lastly, about our desire as a family, to do anything we do, "to the 9", our best.

I will reveal one thing I am working on right now, to be revealed in about a week. The slogan for wake9.com is "a wave the entire family can catch". There will be a section labeled "join team wake9.com" and it is place where you can inspire your kids. We will have howtos with our kids, there are 12 of them, I actually found another family, that have grown to love, with 6 kids. They will be on the site, from the perspective of NEWBIES. We are designing some special gear, like stickers and shirts, that you can ONLY get if you JOIN TEAM WAKE9. The stickers will be free, and the shirts will be at almost cost, this will not be for profit, but I can't give away a ton of shirts.

So how do you join? Not just for kids, but all you have to do, is submit a video on youtube, showing your kid, or anyone dropping the rope and staying in the wave for 30 seconds. If you do that, you will get a special sticker for your board that says "i caught the wave". And you can get the shirt if you wish. You will not be able to get this gear any other way. We will have many more things like that in the coming weeks.

Also, I will be putting together 1 or 2 more free wakesufing kits like I did here over last summer.

Anyway, if you love wakesurfing, help spread the word as we get going. I promise we will represent the sport well, and make you proud!

Love it ragboy! It sounds like you've really thought it all through your family's hobby can possibly be a source of income to help pay for it now at some point!

Good luck on everything, the graphics look nice!

The new gator grip is loved by the entire family. It is more grippy, and also much softer. The tige grip, was painful to you chest area when getting in. We didn't have to remove, since this is a replacement entire step.

So if I wanted to get that gator grip and put it on my swim deck... how hard is it to get the old stuff off? That gator grip looks way softer...

dmg - I just replaced the factory grip on my swim deck with Traxx/Gator Grip last weekend. It wasn't hard at all to remove the old stuff, just peeled up a corner and kept pulling on it. I then removed the old adhesive with Goof Off followed by alcohol. I had to apply the adhesive myself (airjunky was out of the adhesive-backed stuff) so I used 3M 90 spray adhesive, applied to both deck and pad. Put it on and it was done. Pretty easy replacement, and the whole family loves it.
