What a bummer. I hope the boat owners had replacement insurance.
A couple of years ago a nasty storm with high winds tore up docks on Tablerock and took out a few boats. If not mistaken it happened in Kimberling City where dock and boats where thrown ashore and boats had dock parts all over them. The couldn't tell if it was a tornado because the damage was limited mainly to the large common dock. A similar thing happened to the docks at the Indian Point Marina.
To top that one there was a dock fire where a boater pulled into a slip to try fixing something and from what we were told by our resort owners( Owner was a volunteer fireman) he had a fuel leak that ignited when they cranked it over. It started the dock on fire and the majority of the boats were saved by good Samaritans untying them and floating them in the cove away from the fire. I think a couple of boats wee lost but the majority saved.
Bottom line is with the cost of our boats it is worth replacement insurance.

We did not have anything damaged on our property but near the dam and cason cove looks like it got hurt pretty bad. My mother-in-law said a house blew up just north of our place.
