i think that is what its called on mercruiser the round knob with string that is atached to throtel.Today my throtel would go all the way foward but the boat would barley move after i wound the knod clockwise the boat ran fine what hapened.

Well that round knob is probably the step motor for the Perfect Pass Speed control system.

I have no idea why it would keep your boat from going other than the system being disengaged...

I guess we could use a little more info if possible.

it has something to do with the fuel not the perfict pass i belive the knob says fuel shut off or something i will look tomorow.

no that is the one i am talking about it was unwound in the wrong direction when i wound it corectaly everything was fine.

Well then if the boat runs fine manually now thats its been wound up correctly, you should turn on the PP and test it out and make sure its holding the speed correctly.

For some reson that servo motor will back off and you have to manully reset it. No be deal. I think mine does it once a season at the most.
