i think that is what its called on mercruiser the round knob with string that is atached to throtel.Today my throtel would go all the way foward but the boat would barley move after i wound the knod clockwise the boat ran fine what hapened.

Well that round knob is probably the step motor for the Perfect Pass Speed control system.
I have no idea why it would keep your boat from going other than the system being disengaged...
I guess we could use a little more info if possible.Common Sense is not so Common
