    Dry Drain Tube

Another question. Each time when we leave the lake I un-screw the drain plug on a slope to get let water out. Every time its bone dry. One day bigger boat came by and we took on some water over the back and I hit the pump and it spit water out for a while. When we pulled out the drain tube was still bone dry. Is this a bad thing?

I would check your shaft seal, as it should be dripping water. Unless you have a PSS dripless shaft.

But otherwise the less water the better.

You either have a very dry boat (which is good) or your drain plug is clogged. Look in the bildge, if there is standing water your drain hole is clogged.

Also, if your boat/trailer set-up is like mine, you have to have it on a fairly steep grade to get the water to run out, due to the bottom shape. Hopefully you just have a very dry boat!

Mine is always BONE dry as well. No worries. If you take some rollers over the bow you'll have some water in there.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

            Awesome

Thanks for the replies. The only other thing to note is sometimes after I back the boat into the garage there is a little puddle underneath the middle of the boat draining from someplace but its not a ton of water.

I leave the transom drain plug out on the way home from the lake.
It can be dry in the rear when we get home, but when I pull the center drain plug another half gallon or so of water comes out.
You might still have a little water up forward and a tiny leak around a fin.

Thats coming from the raw water intake, completely normal.

For those with a lift, I presume it is better to pull the plug briefly after being out but then re-insert the plug for storage periods while the boat is on the lift. I would guess the lift leaking and dunking the boat is rare but if it happened I would want to boat to continue floating ;-)
