    Throttle

Has anyone ever installed a hot foot or foot throttle in their TIGE? (i know this sounds stupid but I am an old time Jet Boater and this weekend on the lake just felt strange using the throttle on the hand and not on the foot)

Any advice would be helpful (if you have which brand did you use (hot foot) (old jet boat style) Etc?

I have not used a foot throttle since I was 19. My folks and I thought that they were unsafe in rough water. We had occasions when on large water, we would land up blasting at full throttle coming off the whitecaps and a cruisers roller. That boat was quickly modified back to a normal throttle but as they say to each there own. I would not temp fate againeek:

If you feel comfortable with it then it's your choice.

One of the primary reasons for the existence of tow sport boats is the ability to maintain a constant speed for skiiers/boarders. Very tough to do using a foot throttle, as noted above. On a jet, the foot throttle was originally used so the driver could adjust the diverter and throttle seperately. But whatever floats your boat

Thanks guys, my pops and I were having that very discussion about constant throttle and I remember the dificulties with the jet boat as it seemed I always had to keep pushing it further down or backing it off to maintain a speed for skiing. I am going to give it some time on the hand throtte and see if I can get used to it...I am just amazed at how easily you can get to much rpm when pulling into tight spaces if you are not familiar with the throtte....took me a bit to go easy on it and then I was doing ok.

            X2

When I first got our boat after driving a jet it seemed like it would be easier with a foot pedal.
After adding a Perfect Pass cruise control I don't miss the pedal at all.
Once up to speed the cruise takes over and you don't have to watch the speedometer.
Now I have more time to watch for other boats and get to see the skier, too.
