Sweet. Good to hear. Just so you know winterizing a heater is quite simple.

    1. Unscrew all engine drain plugs.
    2. Unscrew both hoses that go to the heater core.
    3. Blow air down both hoses to drain all the water out.
    4. Attach a second small hose to both of the heater drain spouts and blow air down each one. Just a small amount of water should come out of the heater core.

Takes just a few minutes. The mechanics over at Tigé showed me this.

Nice to hear those guys stepped up and owned up to their mistake. Kudos to your mechanic.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I tell you what, I wish you could go to a 1 day class on the how to's of boat maintenance. It would be nice to learn without the trial and error all the time like I have!

akdoc--that is good news. We'll still need to hook up here @ Hillsdale some evening this summer.

I winter/stored @ Innerspace Caves but made sure had heater drained. If I keep on lift over next winter I'll pay double attention to heater/winterizing.

Just to put it in 2 weekends ago. .2 hours on engine from the ramp to the slip. Installed a Fresh Air Exhaust before putting in. Probably be after May 17th as son graduates from high school. Looking forward to surf tips, and/or how to tip the boat for proper wake. I'll dig out your email from last year & we'll set up

Good call CHP! You called it early without even seeing it.

                    Amazing!

How fragile are the heaters? I drained the block on mine, but did not drain the heater (stupid I know, but long story). It has been in storage all winter in middle TN, I do not recall getting too many days of striaght below freezing weather. I have not been able to go check on the boat yet and the heater has been the biggest thing I have been dreading looking at.

Well, they're pretty easy to pop. When my dealer picked up CC in Oct of 07, they bought all the remaining stock from the previous dealer. Last Spring when we started getting the boats ready to put in the water for demo's etc, ALL had popped cores, 10-12 boast if I remember.
