    Boat US says no

After searching this forum, I thought Boat US sounded like a good option for my new 09 RZ-2 with the standard motor that I picked up last week. I went thru their online quote system and received an email 3 days later saying they can't offer me insurance due to "type of boat."
My application and history is clean with no prior claims, offenses, etc. I am in Texas and plan on regional lake use only. I had completed the boating safety course and listed 15 years of boating experience. I went back to State Farm and got covered without a hitch. Anyone else with this problem?

By the way, the new boat is really cool.

Strange, I had no problem setting up coverage with BoatUS. What were the "type of boat" entry options and your selection? Did you call them to ask about it?

For some reason BoatUS gave me a quote from Progressive. And it was HORRID! They wanted more than my truck policy.

Try this insurance company. I currently use them with my RZ2, they have great customer service, and have had them for three years with two different boats (24Ve and RZ2).

I wouldn't insure that either...in fact, why don't you just drop the boat off at my house and be done with it...LOL

It's possible they didn't know what kind of boat you had.

I think you should call Boat U.S. They will be able to help you better over the phone. Their insurance is not through progressive as someone earlier stated. Progressive for me was double Boat US.

I also went through boat us (over the phone) and yes they ended up covering me through progressive but im not real happy with my rate and will be looking again next time around.
