First Wake Injury of the year... already???

Threw a 7 off a double-up yesterday and as soon as I landed the right knee caved to the inside. As of right now it is just a torn LCL, but I'll know more in the near future. It sucks that it happened so early in the season. The Doc didn't think anything was wrong until it buckled as I was walking down the hall in front of him.

aside from a broken nose I've never gotten hurt from wakeboarding. Supposedly if you tear your LCL, then 90% of the time there is something else torn. Depending on the extent of the damage, I might consider selling it all and restarting a few years down the road.

I'd be very surprised if your ACL isn't torn too. Just make sure not to rush it after you get it fixed. I did, now I have problems with mine. The good thing is that they fix knees ortoscopaly(sp) and that really help with the recoevery time. I hope it all goes well, keep us updated.

When you get your Medial Collateral Ligament, they call that the football players triad. Usually you have a torn meniscus (cartilage) and an ACL injury as well. I hope that is not the case since you have a lateral injury, and that you can get back on the water quickly. I sprained an ankle very bad 2 years ago...that is when I really learned to love surfing.

                  Good luck!

to make matters worse, I'm on the next round to get called in for Hire with the Irving Fire Dept./EMT. Its number 2 in the nation for saves behind Seattle. I am in really really tight with the assistant chief whom is in charge of hiring, but I am unaware if this will influence the board's final decision.

Our resident Dr. that use to own a tige but went to the Darkside.

But like Tall said you will be lucky if that's the only damage you have to your knee. I have been around many sport related injures with playing baseball and all my football friends and most of the time they get at least 2 if not all three.

Bummer it had to happen at all let alone right at the beginning of the season.
