    "New" Hoist

I found someone selling a hoist in December and today is actually the first time I got to see it in person. It's supposed to only be a 4,000 pound hoist but we're going to give it a go next weekend and see if it will lift the beast, otherwise it's going to need a 3rd tank. Not too shabby for $500.

I needed all 6000 lb capacity on my 24Ve. I had 800 lbs of pop bags in it, and normal gear, tower etc. Boat did not come up until tanks almost full. I removed the pop bags, and much better. But I would bet your 24V is not going to work on 4000 lb capacity, or would be so close, you would have problems.

start looking for the 3rd tank

I tried to get a 4k lift working on the v2300 - it would only lift it partially out of the water.

I had to upgrade my Hydro Hoist with a third tank to lift my 24V. Nice buy though for $500.00. A little TLC, a couple new bunks, and you should be good to go. You may want to concider a couple walk platforms as well. They make thing much nicer for loading and such.

evil - looking good on there. I don't see a third tank in those pics. Do the two seem to handle to load fine?

That looks like it might hold up very nicely. Now I am wondering it the 4k lbs limit was an estimate

It's always an estimate. Let's just say we're right at the limit. Just when it bubbles water it comes out of the water. About 3" of rudder and propeller are still in the water but that is 99% better then it was before. Also, with some adjustments (it's a little nose high) I think we can get it 100% out of the water. When I step on the boat in the raised position it will sink a few inches.

Take a look at the scum line in the first pics and you'll see where it used to sit with the smaller boat on it and look at the tanks in the second set of pics and you'll see how much lower it sits now. I'm happy I don't have to come out of pocket the extra $1,500 for a new tank and the boat is happier because it can actually get wiped down now. It used to be impossible to reach underneath the top deck when it was in the slip.

Evilone...what did you have to do to the bunks to fit your boat...anything? I bought a used lift for this upcoming season. It's now installed, but I will need to refurbish the bunks...and adjust them to fit my boat...at least I assume I will. Just looking for advice and your experience...

                    Thanks...

I don't have a lift, but I hope to one day. What I would do is measure the bunkers on my trailer, and mimic that on the lift. It looks like everything can be really easily moved around on the lift itself.
