Colorado - 5th Annual Mile High Meet & Greet

    Hey Colorado Peeps!
Kraig Kaiser has put together the 5th Annual Mile High Meet & Greet set for May 30th.
    Here's the details:

    Date: May 30th, 2009
Location: Horsetooth Res. Ft. Collins Colorado
    Cost: FREEEEEE!!!!!!!

After alot discussion and and with the current state of the economy I've decided to take the event back to it's roots. The first year of the Meet & Greet was all about a group of boarders getting together to reconnect and meet other boarders. And that's exactly what we're going to do this year......but with a few additions.

First of all, I won't be doing a catered BBQ, instead I'm going to let everyone bring their own food and refreshments. I will have grills for everyone to use so no need to bring a grill. There won't be a charge for the event, but there is a charge to enter the park.

I will have all the info up on the www.milehighmeetandgreet.com website in the next day or two. And I do have alot more info to share so check back often. I wanted to get this posted up here on WW for everyone to see and hopefully start planning to attend. I will get an email out to everyone here soon as well with all the info.

So please, start spreading the word to everyone! I look forward to seeing EVERYONE from the past four years of the event. And let me add this, I have always been grateful to everyone who keeps supporting this event. I couldn't do it without ALL of you! It amazed me, as well as a few of our sponsors, at how many people stuck around through all the crazy weather we had last year. Colorado wakeboarders are die hards and last year was proof of that!

Again, stay tuned for more info, I will have more in the next day or two........
Summer is right around the corner, let's get this season kicked off at the 5th Annual MileHigh Meet & Greet!!

*****UPDATE - Here's what Kraig Kaiser sent out today:*********
Hey Everyone! We're only 3 Weeks away from the:

5th Annual MileHigh Meet & Greet

    Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Horsetooth Reservoir, Group Pavilion @ South Bay Camping Area

Event Starts at around 10:00 a.m.

We're getting closer to the event and the weather is getting warmer! Which is a relief compared to what we went through last year! And for those who were there, you know what I'm talking about! No one can say Colorado boarders aren't tough!

For those who have boats, bring them! This event started with a group of boarders getting together to meet each other and ride together. And ever since then everyone has been wanting to bring the event back to it's roots where we all can bring our boats. Well, this is the year! And in addition, we're doing camping as well! This is a first for the event and so far it's getting rave reviews. Seems like the format this year is a huge hit! Glad to hear it, that's the feedback I need to keep this event the way you all want it. By bringing your boat, we all can see what you're kickin it behind.

We're not doing a catered BBQ this year. However, the event will be providing the grills and heat for everyone to use. So bring your own food, meat and drinks. Throw your meat on the grill and join in on the party. The event is Free, however, you will need to purchase day passes to get in to the park and day passes for those with boats.

There will be Volleyball and Horseshoes for everyone to play. So come ready to play some Volleball and/or Horseshoes!

Here's the Schedule of the event:

-We'll get things kicked off at around 10:00 a.m. (9 a.m. for those who get there early)

-The grills will get fired up about 11:30 a.m. for everyone to use

-The famed Raffle at about 2:30 p.m

Later in the day, for those who want, we'll take the event up to the party cove!

Tie all the boats together and continue the event on the water! We'll need help from those with boats to help those without a boat. So, if you have one, bring it. And if you don't, come find one. This event is all about finding thirds and finding a crew.

    Sponsors

I'm still working on getting more sponsors for the event, but so far here's the list:

    -Rocky Mountain Boat Company

Supra, Moomba Boats. Pueblo, Colorado 800.592.BOAT

    -Great Lakes Marine

    Nautique Boats. Littleton, Colorado 303.791.6100

    -Wakeboard & Waterski Specialty

    -Tige Boats. Denver, Colorado 303.430.0202

    -S & W Performance

    Mastercraft Boats. Denver, Colorado 303.429.1895

    -Liquid Force Wakeboards

Patrick Cerne with Liquid Force Wakeboards will be at the event with equipment demos.

    -Wakeworld!

Of course, Wakeworld is throwing down some shwag again this year! If you get a chance, thank David for supporting our event here in Colorado. Wakeworld is where it all started and it's great to see that Wakeworld wants to continue to be apart of it!

Again, I'm still working on more sponsors...

    AfterParty at the campsites

Then, for those who are camping (or those who want to stick around), we'll be doing a campfire afterparty that will go into the night! There are still campsites available if you want to camp. Remember, it's a two night mininum stay for weekends in Larimer County Parks. So far, all the campsites for the event are for Friday and Saturday nights.

    Go to: http://www.larimercamping.com/SearchCriteria.aspx

    to book a campsite.

    *Choose the South Bay Campsites*

    Go to: http://www.larimer.org/parks/images/...campground.pdf

for a map of the South Bay Campgrounds. You can see where the Group Use area is and what sites are available.

With alot of people camping, there will be a large showing of people starting Friday afternoon and staying until Sunday afternoon. The event is Saturday, but I have a feeling the party is going to go all weekend long!

    Other Important info:

-The event is free but you will need to purchase day passes into the park and for boats

-For those who want to camp, you will need to reserve and pay for a campsite

-The actual event is at the Group Use Pavilion. For those who would like to partake, we'll be heading out on the water and then back to the campsites.

-Bring your own Food and drink!

*The event will be providing the grills for everyone to use

-Larimer County Parks only allow 3.2 beer in CANS ONLY! No glass, no kegs.

-The Group Use area has tables and benches, but bring chairs as well.

*Bring everything you will need to enjoy a day in the sunshine. Chairs, blankets or shade tents.

-We will have the equipment for Volleyball and Horseshoes.

And lastly, this is a free, fun event for everyone! Play at your own risk.

Let me say Thank You to everyone who has supported the MileHigh Meet & Greet and everyone who continues to help spread the word and help make this event a success year after year! We're at the 5th year of this event and I couldn't have done it without ALL of you! It's the Colorado wakeboarders that keep pushing this event and keep wanting it every year.

Again, Thank You for all your support and I look forward to seeing everyone who's been at the past four MHM&G's and many many new people!

For the history of the event Go to: www.milehighmeetandgreet.com
