Anyone else pull with an SUV?

I used to have a truck and could put the boards in the bed, now we have an SUV. Does anyone know of any racks that mount to the roof like snow ski's or snowboards? I dont want to lay the boards in the boat as they will slide around and potentially cut up the seats.

Buy board bags and put them in the boat. They are a lot cheaper than trying to figure out a roof mounting system.

My board bag has my board, life jacket, any neoprene, and handle in it.

I do the same. The good thing is that if I ever go with someone else, I just grab the bag and I know 'my' stuff is all in there.

I also have sat the board on the floor of the boat with the nose of the board under the steering wheel and the board sitting on its side resting on the bindings. Never had a problem with that. Then a second board in the walkway on it's side as well. I would not lay the board down flat on the floor. It's shape is meant to lift up under those circumstances.

What boat do you have? I keep all of my boards on the boat in the storage compartments.

We put ours in the rear lockers. That is what I love about the boat, all that storage. All we have is stowed away safe and sound.

I just leave my boards on the floor in the boat or on the rack on the tower. Just make sure the rack can hold the boards really good becuase you wouldn't want to lose a board.

If you are looking for a rack to go on top of your SUV, Thule makes a ski and snowboard rack that should fit a wakeboard.

Not worth the risk, IMHO. If you hurt someone or caused damage to their car, it would be indefensible as to why you left them up there.

I wouldn't tow with anything in the tower, ever.

                        1. The we didnt trust the tower.
                        2. The tower adds enough drag as it is..
