    Uphostery Recovering

Unfortunately, two of my engine covers were damaged by a falling tree branch a couple of weeks ago during an ice storm here in Atlanta.

They're are going to have to be recovered. There are a few uphostery shops that claim they can do the job, but I'm worried about the color matching.

If I go to my Tige' dealer, will they be able to order the material? I've already called them, but they are primarily a Cobalt dealer and the person that deals with the Tige' line isn't in today.

I was thinking if I can order the material from Tige', then it would be the correct color and I can just take it somewhere and have it installed.

My previous experience ordering uphostery items from a dealer (Tracker) was a nightmare and took over a year to get right.

Trust your local guys. When Tige' would send out the vinyl, the dye lots could be slightly off. Your local guys should be able to match up just as well with less waiting time.

I agree with flackpack. In my previous boat, the engine cover was ruined by the boat above in rack storage. A local shop fixed and you could never tell anything ever happened to it.

It was cheap too, considering the dealers price to replace it.

Thanks for the replies. I wish I had 'local shops' like you do. I've been to 5 over the last few days. Of those 5, only one was willing to "try". He wasn't confident so I declined.

So, I ended up calling my Tige' dealer and ordering the "skins". The dealer said they have a guy who can perform the work. The only downside to this is I'll have to make two trips to the dealer and it's a 4 hour round trip. I guess that's better than a half _$$ job though
