    monster bimini top

    Hi All

Has anyone seen or bought a Monster cargo bimini? I think its called a Blindside 180 or something. We have a 99 21i that has a more traditional bimini with annoying frame that flaps at waterski speeds. I would go for this idea of Monster's if it doesn't flap, it would also get a lot of gear off the floor of the boat. Is there anything else out there like this cargo bimini idea?

I have sold a few and have some on Monster Towers on the lot right now. Have pulled them down the highway and they seem to hold up pretty well. Haven't had it on the lake yet, but doesn't seem too bad here.

It looks nice but kind of small (not alot of shade).I have not seen one in person so i dont know for sure.We install monster towers at our shop and i can assure that they will stand behind everything they sell. So i wouldnt worry about that part of it.They make quality stuff and will help you with any concerns you have.

I built mine from aliuminuim conduit and had a upholstery shop sew the top for a grand total of $110

I have one and I love it. No flapping. It's very well made (better than the one that my boat came with).

formandfunction: could really use some specs/pics of your budget special. the wife said I could get a monster tower bimini if I didn't want to eat for a few months, so looking at the economy model.

I don't have any good pictures but its real easy.Just build the frame the way you like bolt it to the tower with stainless bolts and use some type of bushing in between the tower and top.I used body bushings off a 47 ford because I had them lying around but a swaybar bushing would work and you could get that at a parts store.I also tig welded the frame but they make unions you could buy. They also sell the small pipe bender.I want to say the stainless bolts are four inches by 1/4 inch with lock nuts.
Another helpfull hint is to lay out a bed sheet so when you drill the holes the shavings don't get stuck in your carpet. When your done just take the frame to a canvas shop and your done.Tows great too.

Check this place out, its kind of far from you. But they make all the bimini tops for TWS, Carrera, Eliminator, and numerous other boat companies located in the SoCal area.

The bimini for my RZ4 is 10' lone and gives so much shade its ridiculious.

My dad got a custom bimini made for his 28' Howard & my brother got a custom larger bimini made for his Moomba Mobius.
