    Tige 22ve prop

I just purchased a '06 22ve. The boat came out of California with a 13.5 x 16 4 blade prop. I live in Utah and run a lot at Utah lake (elevation: 4500') and Lake Powell (elevation: 3600').

I wondering if I'll need to get a new prop for the higher Utah elevation. Any Utah Tige owners out there - what prop do you use?

The boat has the 340hp engine.

ACME 537 should be fine, which is what was OEM. I've been on the same boat at Powell and it did fine until we added 2000# of ballast. It was fine up to 1500# of ballast and peeps.

I'd call Acme. They would know what to tell you and also recommend a prop if you needed a different one.

Running ballast also will change the prop that turbonine suggested. I would do what dogbert said.. Call acme...

We need to know what engine you have and if you have the gear reduction (which you probably do, it is usually blue in color, if you don't know).

Acme 537 worked great up to 2000 pounds of ballast in my 24V.
            Be excellent to one another.

340hp and I think the only gear choice for the 06 Ve was the 1.46:1

Thanks for all the information. As I said the boat has the 340hp engine, not sure about the gear reduction (probably 1.46:1 if that was the only choice for the 06 22Ve)

Sounds like the stock 13.5x16 (ACME 537) prop should work fine for general use. A few spring test runs at the local lakes should confirm.

One more question about ballast. Sounds like if I start adding lots of ballast for surfing, I'll need to consider a different prop. Any suggestions?

KonaKing - hope to see you at the lake sometime. I'll be the ghost white tige (pic attached).

Hey, did you miss the part about the fact that this is a V-Drive or did you forget what your boat looks like because you haven't been out in it for so long?

If you add more than 1500 lbs of ballast, then you probably want to down pitch the prop. Call ACME and they can help you with that. Tell them how much weight you plan to run (including people). I dropped my from a 13 to 11. Works better for surfing because you get more immediate response from RPM changes at lower speeds, especially with lots of weight.

                        Laugh it up round boy.

Yes Dog, I have seen the light. I still love my D but, I wouldn't be opposed to owning a Ve.

Your boat is still pretty cool.

Awesome boat!!!!!! That white is so clean!

Sorry, you said you had the 340 HP. ADD got the best of me there.

Bring her down to St. George in the fall and you will not be disappointed. The best riding in the country is here in late September.
