Thanks for the reply's everyone. The team over at Tigé and myself have put a lot of work in to it so we appreciate everyones comments and input.

We are still doing some minor tweaks and updates throughout the rest of the day and week.

Are the forums difficult to read? I can see how the thread views are little hard to read. I may lighten up the background on the forum and adjust the fonts as well. If you have any other suggestions please put here as we will consider them.

    Thanks,
    Matt

Need to look around. Seems a little gloomy but I am sure we will get use to it. Provide more feedback a little later...

Seems a bit slow, but that could be from many factors.

Seems a bit dark and the top portion just kinda is all melded together. Not much differentiation between the top banner (TigeOwners.com) and the next banner (Home, Forum, Polls,...), etc. Using blacks, whites and greys it seems it could be more crisp.

Being a web and graphic designer, here is my constructive crit.

            1. The gallery section needs a new program. That particular system is much to clumsy and hard to navigate. From an interface standpoint it doesn't fit with the ease of the forum and the rest of the newly designed site. I would look to find a better solution, and I don't think people will mind re-uploading pictures if the system is much easier to use, comment, share, etc... Integration that fits is key, and if that happens I think people will upload and banter more similar to a facebook type thing.

            2. When your in the main forum menu you need to get away from the previously clicked color change. Like others I frequent different sections multiple times to see the newest post and I don't need reminder that I've already clicked on that section.

3.When your in a section, the new posts and already read posts need to be more contrasting. The little pages next to the post are trying to tell me something about that post, it's just not clear.
Maybe make those icons more distinct and the title more contrasting then I will know if I've read the post, it's a new post, etc...

            3. In an actual post, I would like to see peoples name with more contrast then the rest of the body. Maybe darken the gray background that spans the top, and make the names in orange. It gives a nicer break between posts and lets me know who's talkin some mess. You could also add an orange border around the pics too.

            4. On the sidebar, I would like to see maybe the most recent three posts in the whole forum. Then you can see new posts when your browsing the rest of the site, especial if you make the gallery better. Maybe some kind of ajax app that will update it on the fly without refreshing the page.

Other then those things I think it was a nice transition. Totally fits with the Tige site and great extension to market. If only tige would promote it on there home page and not buried in a drop down. I really like the sidebar with the recent gallery pics, news, and social extensions. Very clean boys, great job overall. It's not gloomy like some people are saying. It's modern, cool, and most importantly simple and easy. The things I've said are just my take it or leave it.

How about being able to select different fonts for the user name? Maybe be able to select them in the user control panel. Just something I happen to think about when I was cruzing around.

Looks good to me. Maybe a bigger font, but I could probably do that with my browser if I wasn't lazy.

I wanted a bigger avatar space...did that happen?

Let's see my new skull avatar. It looks the same size to me. At least I did not have to resize it before uploading...I like how it did that for me automatically.
                    Be excellent to one another.

Thanks for the great feedback. We certainly agree with some of the points you made about the forum usability. In the next few days expect to see some changes.

Are you all talking about the forum fonts or the fonts on the main section of the site, ie home page, news, etc.?

                      Thanks guys...

tall, we did not update the avatar size since the user/header section of a thread would take up a considerable amount of size. Especially when a thread has multiple replys.

Let me elaborate, when the avatar size is increased so is the header that surrounds it, ie the box that has the username, join date, location, posts, etc. Increasing that increases the used real estate on the thread views. Remember you still have the option to have a large profile picture.

We did increase the private message limit to 65 private messages.

Overall I think the change is great. Like anything people can find gripes observations and suggestions. MY fir st comment was am I on the right site! Once I started looking at it and navigating I could come up with a list but the list would be a bunch of nits. I think the new look is good. I like contrast of light on dark. To me it looks like you kept the best from the old and improved what and where you could. Any of the developers who are Tige Owners understand what I call the 80/20 rule and the words best compromise. Great Job Matt to you and the team. Are you still tweaking the new site or are the changes locked down for a while?
