I want to know what other boat owners do when it comes time to fill the gas tank. Do you make your friends pay, if so how much?? 1st ride is free? Drag the boat to the gas station and everyone splits the bill? OR do you have friends that just say..."i'll get you later". What is the best, nicest way to get gas money out of your passangers???

I actaully never ask exspecially if I invite someone new or extra to come along. We are always headed to the lake anyway and would be going w/ or w/out their couple of extra bucks.
That being said even though I never ask and always refuse to accept there is usually a mysterious $20 in the glove compartment the next time we go out.

If our friends own a boat usually it comes back around so we dont mention gas. But if they dont own a boat then the right thing for them to do is offer. If they dont offer just cut down on their boating time or throw out how expensive it is to go out. Not worth losing a friend over though---v^---v^---v^_____---v^---v^ For a second there. I was bored to death!!

its all about your crew
If you have the same 4 or 5 that go out together often - then it shouldn't be a problem...If everyone is getting a pull - then gas should be split equally. Unless there are extenuating circimstances (like someone just lost their job or they are going through tough times)...Being a regular on the boat means you understand that - if you don't, then you aren't a regular.
Now - just going to the Party Cove for the afternoon - hot chicks/fun chicks shouldnt have to worry about it - one off dudes should chip in - then the regulars split. Everyone should bring beverages/snacks for them and the boat. its usually a pretty passive agressive enforcement of this - if you don't get it - you probly wont be coming out very often in the future.
Luckily -hasnt been a problem for us, most people just ssem to get it when we go to the gas dock

First timers or random invitees are freebies. Regulars whom also own a boat (that we actually use) don't pay. Regulars with no boat pay up. Family is free. If we putter to the cove and get snockered the gas is negligible so I don't charge.
I normally load up the crew BEFORE I hit the gas station and this tact seems to encourage the "chipping in effect."
As the boat owner I don't expect to fill the cooler either (unless a whole crew of newbies are coming.)
My friends suck balls about paying....I just kinda deal with it. I love being on the water so I try to let it roll off my back. It wouldn't be as much fun without them so if they wanna be crappy about paying I normally ignore it.Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

We have a war going on with a relative of ours. We frequently switch off boats and driving each other places. So everytime we go out we are always sneaking $20 somewhere or finding some money. Also its a war of buying food if we stop on the road.
We dont ask for it, nor do we willingly accept it.Common Sense is not so Common
Looking for fat chicks for long walks, romance, cheap buffets, and BALLAST.

Regular riders w/o boats usually pay or offer or bring drinks/food.
If the guest have a boat then you generally trade rides and help w/wipe down/storage duties.
Invited 1st time guest don't ask, but check on weather they help or they disrespect he boat...if they dont help or walk you boat leaving shoe prints...they dont come again. Or razz the crap out of them so they know better next time.
Ex. I am going to FL next week and meeting w/kko....I have never met, but offered gas, refreshments and clean up help.....He responded refreshments and clean up would be accptd.
Can't wait to ride in FL.
