    Best Combo Boat????

Hey, my 23ft Mastercraft (hated it) died over the winter and I was planning on replacing it with a Malibu. This week I totally got sold on Tige'!! Love the TAPS2 concept. I live at the lake in the summer and put a lot of hours on a boat. I slalom ski pretty hard and do a little recreational course skiing and we all wakeboard. Got four kids, so I also need as many seats as possible. I'm looking for suggestions as to the best all around model. My wife isn't into direct drives for the loss of convenience, so I'm looking at a '06 24ve with low hours and some new z1's. Haven't found a deal on a 22ve, but feel like that might be the best of both. Can you really get a good slalom wake behind these big boats?? Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks

If you want a course capable wake and a V drive, you will be looking at a 20v.

Like I have said, its easy to make a ski boat a wakeboard boat. You can always add ballast if you decide the stock wake isnt big enough. But if you want to stay true to your course skiing the 20v is probably the best choice. Actually the 20i would be, but you want a V drive. Z1 might be possible too but its got a wider beam which is not so good for slalom.

Yeah, but he was already skiing behind a 23' Mastercraft. He should be fine with the 24Ve

With Zad on this one. 20v is the best Tige crossover. I have a 2004 22v with the taps it puts out a good water ski wake a little big but soft. 22ve will not disappoint you.

But the best crossover I have been behind hands down is the CC Nautique 211

I am a skiier first, then everything else next, and I have a Switch V (same hull as the current 20V). It might not have enough room for what you want, but I would suggest looking at it. We normally have our family, and another family with us when we are on the lake, and have had enough room.

My RZ2 put out a great slalom wake (first day in the boat) and then I filled the ballast and we never saw that slalom wake again...

Hmmm not into the DD's? Not sure if you have access to a Tige dealership, but if you do, at least test drive a 22i. See how the wife takes it or not. We regularly had 6 or more on board and were comfortable. Hey, the engine makes a great table.

In any case, good luck to you!!

Awesome wake board wake, haven't skied behind one, but surfs like chit.......needs alot of weight

In water sports triathlon (ski, board, surf) I'll put my money on the Z1, as i've spent some time in both. The Tige is a better riding boat IMO, except for a little porpoise above 28mph, which a little nose ballast quickly cured.

drive them all and get behind them as well, that's the bottom line!

Drive them all. You're spending a shiiiithouse full of cash, you should try them all and then decide which suits YOU best.

With 4 kids--look at 22ve or 24ve. We have a 24ve and with our kids and their friends, you'll love the extra room. THe reason why my wife "convinced me" to upgrade from a 20'I/O was my daughter's 13th birthday with 5 of her friends. The 24ve is awesome, rated for 16.

22ve or 24ve will have good ride--I like the trimability of the TAPS. It's not as trimmable as an I/O but capable enough to get you home dry in rough conditions. I've ridden in a Mailbu Wakesetter247--was nice, but I prefered the trim we can do on the TAPS to have the versalitity of big or small(er) wake.

I've skiied, tubed, wakeboarded and surfed behind our 24ve. Surfing needs ballast to really get it done, but you can easily do all of other items. Have your wife talk to mine who in 5 years went from not wanting a boat to wanting a 24ve.
