Question about KMT6 and Phat Tower

My boat is not here and I was wondering if a set of KMT6 tower speakers would fit on my tower.

I would have to take off one of these brackets too. I think?

Any one with this tower that can help me out?

I just noticed that I have some predrilled holes for wiring.

Each pod is 19"W, is your tower wide enough to mount them!

That is what I was thinking about. I don’t know the dimensions of that spot in the middle of the tower.

Should i just use a grinder to take off one of those plates?

Just measured today and the top bar is 33" wide but you can see that the side bars angle towards the front.

Will the roundness of the Kmt6 allow them to be mounted?

i would think so. Just to stay a step ahead, keep in mind when grinding or torching that all those thousands of firey fragments of metal have the capability of augmenting your upholstry forever, and not in a good way. cover up or whatever it takes.

not to knock that tower or anything, but WHY THE H*LL would they even put those flat stock peices up there like that???

I think that back in the day tower speakers were not as good and tower companies would just bolt those waterproof box speakers up there.

If I were to mount some lights I think I would like them.

Another thing is that I can just keep my cover on and stand on the engine hood because I have an I drive. Grind off the bracket then shake my boat cover off.

Not sure what those speaker look like, but I mounted mine speakers above the tower.
This made opening and closing the bimini much easer.

I mounted mine on top as well; allowing more room for the bimini. I would rather them "hang" but that just isn't possible. pics to follow

I made tow boxes that just sit inside the top of the tower, using the lip (metal plate)
The boxes are only as thick as the tubing, so you can’t see them. In side each box are compact fluorescents, with a diffuser hiding them. This is a great way to light up the inside of the boat at night. Sorry no pics on my laptop, and i am out of town for work.
If you are interested, I get my son to take a few pics?

Mock one up out of cardboard and see if it would fit. I would try to mount them with out the clamps, if need, before I cut off the cross braces.
