    3 or 4 blade

Ok one more. My acme 537 is in need of replacement so do I go with another 537 or try a 3 blade. I like the 537 but would like a little more hole shot for skiing. Who has the 3 other than dog and dou you still love it dog?

Stay with a 4 blade. 3 blade will not work with your transmission, since you most likely have some sort of gear reduction. 3 blades are generally on transmissions that are a 1:1.

The Acme 1235 will give you better hole shot, but you will add about 200 - 300 RPMS when between 25 - 35 MPH. Also the 1235 wouldnt be considered the best prop for skiing.

Honestly the 537 is probably the best prop for skiing.

      Kona,
Here is a thread about props and our elevation. I have an ACME 1237 that I love and it has been a great prop for a loaded boat at elevation. I do switch back to the 537 at Powell and Mead. Laketime and I do a lot of riding at East Canyon, Pineview and other high elevation lakes. The 1237 is a four blade and has great bottom end with only the sacrifice of maybe 1 mph on the top end.

So did you ever change it at Utah Lake ? I do spend most of my time there. And where is the place in Clearfield. I think I will still have my 537 repaired.

              Kona,

I have tried the 1237 at Utah Lake, it hits just over 5,000 rpm. I never did do a top end test to see where it maxed out at. I also tried the 1237 at Powell the first day out last summer it was over revving at over 5200, so I changed it on day two and stayed with the 537 down there. I like the pull of the 1237 up here along the wasatch front. I will only change for major road trip to Powell or Mead. I drove by Utah Lake on Tuesday and the ice is still on, What's up with that? I guess it is still winter for a couple more weeks. The pro shop is on Antelope Dr. I don't think there would be another so if you found one in Clearfield, that's probably it.

Acme sold me a custom 3 blade 801 to replace my 4 blade 381 for what it is worth.

My original prop was a stainless 3 blade. ACME recommended that prop for my exact boat. The newer 22v and 22Ve get 4 blades. I'd call ACME and get a recommendation from them.

It's still listed on their website - http://www.acmemarine.com/prop-list_ski-boat.php

It made a huge difference out of the hole compared to the original OJ 14x18.
