goto spectrumcolor.com see if they have the one for your yr. boat. Its on the bottom so it want have to be perfect good place to learn. i think you will find it eaiser than you think to fix. sorta like patching a hole in drywall but witha little buffing involved. or you could have someone do it for i would guess 50-60 bucks.

They are super helpful if you have any questions just ask them!! They send good instructions, just follow them. Get the paste if it's available it's much easier. Totally a super super super easy fix---just follow the instructions!!
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

I wonder if the wood screw pushed out a chip and that is what he means is the size of a dime, if not, then that is the biggest wood screw that I have ever seen!

I did the same thing, but to the inside of the front storage boxes.

              SPECTRUM worked AWESOME and EASY

It's called a lag bolt if it's that big

I have used spectrum gel coat and it isn't that hard to use. But nobody is providing the real information needed to make the fix. Gel coat is only the exterior coating that goes over the fiberglass. It provides a seal and cosmetic finish. You first need to fill the hole, structurally fix the hole, and then do the gel coat fix last. The first question I have is do you have access to the hole from inside the boat? I assume so since it sounds like it was screwed from the inside which did the damage. If so, then I would fiberglass over the hole. The hole should be too deep to then fill with gel coat, so fill all but 1/8" with something like Marine-Tex or an epoxy. Then do the gel coat thing.

the hole is only the size of the small wood screw it busted the gelcoat out about the size of a dime the hole is very small

Thanks for the clarification. I'd fill the hole with epoxy and top off the busted out piece with a kit from Spectrum.

use marinetex to fill and seal the hole first. you can sand it and leave it (it's white) or prep it and gelcoat over it. What ever you want. i would rather see a epoxy filler used in the hole first rather than just gelcoat puddy. my 2 cents
