How far do you tow?

From house to cottage 60 miles. Stays at the cottage 80% of the time. At the cottage we are 25 miles from Minocqua, WI where all the fun is at. "You guys wanna cruise the lake in comfort, or would you rather skim the waves with Uncle Roman in a jet boat?!"

Interesting thread... I was thinking of towing my boat from Annapolis, MD to lake of the Ozarks in Mo. but the 1,100 miles each way is a long haul. We have a very healthy lean towards "not"!

It's about 50 miles from our house to our lake house, 100 yards from there to the boat ramp at Lake Buchanan and 5 miles to the nearest gas station.

It's about 7 miles from my covered storage in Austin to Quinlan Park on Lake Austin and another 7 miles from storage to my house.

In the summer time, we'll spend our weekends at Lake Buchanan and ride a 2-3 times a week on Lake Austin.

about 700mi one way from dallas to paducah ky. usually about 15mi or less w/occaisional trip to austin 220mi in the summer

We've towed 290 miles from Henderson, NV to Lake Powell. Our weekly trip though is only 15 miles to Lake Mead.

About 200 miles, round trip, almost every weekend. We will head out Friday night, camp out, and head back on Sunday.

Although we just bought a 5th wheel, so hoping to head out often on Wed. night , as we can now work out of that, vs. our old slide-in, pop-up camper.

Generally, we only tow about 5 miles round-trip from storage to splash and then yank to the gas station and back to storage. However, we drive 250 miles one-way to get to the lake.

Since we bought from local dealer, we will tow it ~300 miles one-way for service.

IMO is not worth miles to Lake of the Ozarks. Too built up and crowded but does have some party coves.

If you head south from Lake of the Ozarks any of the lakes on the Missouri Arkansas border on the White River Chain cannot be beat with exception to maybe Lake Powell. There are 4 large Clear Water River fed lakes where lake levels controlled by series of dams.

Norfolk, BullShoals, Tanneycomo (shallow cold Trout fishing lake), TableRock and Beaver are all flooded rivervalley lakes that are deep clearwater lakes. Great lakes for all water sports. They are a long haul your right.

A couple of other lakes that are sizable and good for watersports but are not clear water lakes are in the Northern KY area. Kentucky Lake, Lake Barkley and Cumberland. Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley are working lakes with periodic barge traffic that generates some huge water. These are surrounded by lot's of forests and all have resorts on or near the water.

These are more toward SW KY than what is considered NKY. They are closer to TN border.

I stand corrected. I haven't been to them in a while and for some reason I thought Kentucky Lake was near Paducah.

That is correct...but Paducah is in SW KY.

NOPE...The boat stays at the house all year & never comes down here. I only towed the Tige down here twice last summer & it was only due to warranty issues.
