    Wake the World

We are trying to get everything lined up for Wake the World June 22 & 23.

For those of you that don't know, this is a 2 day event, we entertain all the residents of 2 local chidren's homes for some fun at the lake, lunch, volleyball, goodies, a cook out and some awesome riding expos. This year we are making it better by serving everyone a steak dinner and hopefully a live band.

We can never have too many boats. We try to put about 4 kids per boat so that the day is very relaxing and everyone gets all the water time they want. The more boats we have, the more kids I can invite. We have a couple of other children's homes on our "waiting list". I sure would like to invite them. It is a very rewarding day, those kids are starved for the kind of attention you can give.

To find out more you can join our facebook group, Wake the World or go to

That is a great thing your doing, we are out here on the west coast, so it would be tough for us to make it but good luck and have fun.

The correct response is... That is a great thing your doing, we are out here on the west coast, so it would be tough for us to make it but we are going stop by the Children's Home here and see what we can do for those kids.

If you do this every year please let me know. My wife and I would definitely be up for the trip. We would love to Share boating experience with kids. We have tubes and trainer skis somewhere in all the boating stuff and would love to do it this year but are already committed to vacation time elsewhere.

Our only catch is we bring two labs (used to be 3) and tow miniature Dachshunds. They have gone on every boating trip so the labs love kids and the Dachshunds one the meet the crew will smother them in dog kisses just like our labs.

If you know next years schedule, I would be happy to head out that way and help out if I can plan trip in early spring because we need to arrange schedule for the drive, weekend with kids and and lake stops on way back home or to my dad's place near Elkhart, Indiana. It also depends on if I don't loose or have to sell boat. I will know that in next few weeks. I have an LTD policy that covers disability caused by my killer Cluster Headaches but I can deal with them for a worthy cause with children. We don't have final approval yet but if approved we will give our time to this worthy cause.

Send me a PM with next years plan once you have.

        Jim

We will always have the event the first Monday & Tuesday after Father's Day. It just seems appropriate since alot of them may not have had that great of a Father's Day.

Yea, it's a shame that we live in world that we have to worry about doing something nice for someone 'cause we might get sued.

I will note when you do this and mark calendar for next year so time will be reserved. Hopefully you will post information in May about it so folks like me who would be traveling a bit to get there know for certain that the event is still on. Have a great time this year.

North Carolina is a few hours from here
